maybe "dodgy" is pushing it - i was simply falling into that old trap of "the film's not as good as the book" - a lazy and obvious point i know.

if you've only seen the film - definitely read the book - doesn't have a soppy ending like the film - "ah here's some money for spud" - and the narrative structure is completely different.
