what were the last 3 films you have seen and would you recommend them? and what 3 films do you want to see?

mine are

Hide and Seek: i think it's good, planned out well with a few twists (odviouse ones if your a hardcore fan of this genre).

The Texas Chainsaw Masacre(remake): hard to say if it's better than the original but it's better than the sequiles and full of blood.

Cursed:wes cravens werewolf film, it was ok  one of the better looking werewolves i've seen, i would recommend it for teenagers or hardcore horror fans.

i wan't to see

Sin City

Wax House

The Cave

Dudley

Birth - Excellent if a tad formulaic, great nicole kidman performance

Crash - Excellent, if a trifle over-reliant on co-incidence as a plot driver.

All About My Mother - Not Almodovar's best, but really quite good.  Cruz's performance proves yet again that she can act in Spanish, but only pout in English.

Pyroxian

For a Few Dollars More - top Western action.
Road to Perdition - good, different to the comic in places though.
I Robot - didn't suck as much as I thought it would. Could've done with less action sequences (they seemed the weakest bits), and the car chase scene was ridiculous.

Sin City's top, PSM. There's an extended DVD release coming out in December apparently.

Sin City is truly awesome! DVD out very soon...

Last 3 films eh?
The Bourne Identity: Absolutely bloody stunning! Matt Damon can actually act! Well worth a viewing, as is the Bourne Supremecy.

Land of the Dead: Hmmm. A bit pap, im afraid.

Cypher: F*ckin great! A film that doesnt insult peoples intelligence, has a sci-fi edge, and is beautifully shot & acted. Very strongly recommended! (same director as Cube, dont you know!)

Also saw Dirty Harry for the first time recently!
Cannot believe ive never got round to seeing it before now.
What a truly superb film!

WoD

Goodfellas - always recommend it
Harry Potter Prisoner of...it was ok, not very good.
1/2 of Sin City - and that half was good...looking forward to the rest.

Rex Banner

Million - it was great.
Willy Wonka - really didn't like it.
Dukes of Hazzard - seeing the General Lee again was good, the rest was not.

Sin City - the special edition that's on it's way will have the three stories extended so they can be viewed seperately.

House of Usher

The last 3 I saw were:

GATACCA - I avoided seeing it for a very long time because it looked totally boring and rubbish, but finally I saw it and it was rather beautiful, with a very typical Michael Nyman score, and very artistic design and the use of lighting and filters.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding - Very lightweight, and it made me wonder what the fuss was all about.

The Ring 2 - (American) Not having seen the American adaptation of the first in the series, I figured I had nothing to lose seeing the second one because it couldn't touch the Japanese originals anyway. It was rubbish, and they'd made the ghost look like a rather ordinary dead girl.

I want to see:

28 Days Later
Calendar Girls
White Zombie
STRIKE !!!

johnnystress

I really like 28 Days Later- i'ts gets a lot of criticism on this board though- each to their own

On  related note I saw Redeye yesterday

The verdict is "meh"

skurvy

Sideways - excellent film, polished off a bottle of cheap red wine watching that.

The Fantastic Four - absolute rubbish

and, erm Sky's Lesbian Perversions 2 - good but not a patch on the first one.

LARF

Anchorman - By the beard of Zeus, I loved that film!

The machinist - quite good, makes you think, missus hated it

Sahara - American gug ho movie you really want to punch!!!

Conexus

Achorman, a film so good it made me go 'Meh'

Conexus

By the way , off topic a bit, but don't you hate those pretencious film critics (and of over art mediums too) who perscribe their own views onto the rest of humanity, as if it is more than just their opinion , which may, actually, not be shared by the rest of the world ? Any mentions of 'You feel..' or even more pretenciously  'The viewer can only think...'

Mr C

Kelly's Heroes: DonaldSutherland in htis is how I want to be when I grow up!

Reign of Fire: Really, really bad. And that's coming from a guy who loves everything to do with Dragons. The proper nasty, fire-breathing ones that devastate all they see mind, not the wussy ones that hang around with princesses and have butterfly wings. Ptupp ptupp.

Casshern: Very much a music video. If you stick with it, it's worth it. Goes up its own arse a few times, but worth it for the big sompy robots
