If a Magazine was to reprint old strips from Fleetway comics other than 2000 AD wgat would you want to see?
And on a similar note what creative teams would you like to see if old strips both 2000 Ad and elsewhere were ressurrected?
Just found the Action special and I loved Sean Phillips Silver Claw.

Mudcrab

Original Strontium Dog would be a must, as would old Ro-Busters (from Starlord). Possibly Timequake, I seem to remember liking that one.
NEGOTIATION'S OVER!

I remember a Battle story called Death Squad which was basically a PG version of Cross of Iron. I'ld love to see something similar revamped by Carlos Ezquerra, is there room in tooth for non-science fiction strips?

Oh yeh now you're talking !

'Death Squad' was indeed very 'Cross Of Iron' meets Sven Hassel's WW2 novels of a Kraut penal battalion. The leader was called 'Grandad' as opposed to Hassel's 'Old Man'.

Plenty of old 'Battle' characters I'd love to see come out of the woodwork or be reprinted. Stop me if you've heard all this before..

First up has gotta be 'Darkies Mob' - reworked later as 'Bad Company', the Wagner droid's superb WW2 version is begging for a GN compilation.

Let's not forget Pat Mills 'Charley's War', probably the greatest UK comic strip of the last quarter of a century bar none. And its not even currently in print ! That is truly a disgrace.

There was always a reworked TV/Film theme in Battle and Early 2000 AD. Rat Pack was the dirty Dozen, we/ve mentioned death squad, there was something called Hunters(?) I think which was the proffessionals, and Mach 1 was reprinted in Battle which was obviously the 6 million dollar man. It'ld it be intersting if it had survived to see what they'ld currently be riffing on.

Lets not forget 'Spinball Wars' (Rollerball) and 'Hookjaw' in Action (Jaws).

Personally I'd like to see a 'Major Eazy' revivial with Ennis and Ezquerra. It's difficult to look beyond Ennis and Wagner as writers for your WW2 stories really.
'Panzer G-Man' was a cracking character too.

We need Nazi's fighting Russians by Wagner amd Ezquerra, it's definitly the way ahead. Carlos could even do the one of the Nazi's in the style of James Coburn. Although there is no  room for Romanian Vampires.
On Ennis I bought the War Story specials he did for DC and reccommend them, the Russian Front one had fabulous Chris Weston art, and he is definitly one of my favourite British artists.

"Johanns Tiger". You've got to love the Tiger II tank, its a big mean lump of metal. By comparison the T-34 looks horribly old fashioned and tiny.

 Colonel, are you sure thats your rank and your not an Ubergruppenfuhrer? Ah National Socialists, nice uniforms pity about the number of german soldiers killed because it took them so long to ask their officers anything;
" We are under fire  Mein Ubergrupp.." bang "...enfuhrer" Thud.

Stuff from Eagle (DOOMLORD) - and completed series from Toxic! (MUTO MANIAC).

I think every body loves the big guy Vek, lets have him back, not in photo stories though please.
 Possible Crossover:

"I am Doomlord master of life, bringer of death, Protector of Earth."

Finn "We don't need your alien male oppressive Mother Earth raping ways, in fact we woirship the Earht Goddess and Khaos and..."

Doomlord "Ring to disintegrate."

I'ld pay good money to see that.
