Harmful if Swallowed

Cant believe that it was December 1991 when we last saw Massimo in 2000AD.

Just looking at his profile page and some of the original art people own and after seeing this page makes me want to go and dig through a pile of old dusty crisp boxes.

I reckon its about time we had an Extreme Edition dedicated to one artist to show how much his work is appreciated whilst he's still around & maybe the collected thrill power and good will can help give a little extra charge to his pacemaker.

Well we've had a pretty Massimo heavy year so far, what with two Meltdown's and various other bits and bobs. Still, it's a great idea. Some Ace Garp, The Dead and a few bits and bobs from here and there might be a lovely idea.

Personally I think single artist issues are a lovely idea and that Cam Kennedy, Carlos Ezquerra, and Ian Gibson should be the first candidates. And single writer issues to. G.F.D., John Wagner, Pat Mills, Alan Grant...

It's great to know that we still have one of the early master artists of 2000AD still with us. I have to echo that his artwork still has the ability to make me smile (and bring a tear to my eye...)

Great to hear the great master is still pumping out orginal and superb artwork.

Thanks to Robbie for sharing all this.

A lot of my early artwork is by Massimo and it is very very very good as well as bringing back childhood memories.

Nuff Respect to the old geezer....

That Slaine artwork has the best dragons I came across. I was getting jaded by stereotypical dragons, Massimo showed there was still plenty of scope in the ancient beasts yet.

The Knucker must have been "special Assignment for Mr Belardinelli!"

Yeah, that's the thing i've found, most of the famous people i have met are just as generous and nice as everyone else. I love living in Notting hill for that reason alone :D

You know,I got the right hump when they killed Diamond Eyes off.

Late coming to this thread, but had to record the emotional impact it (and Robbie's previous thread) has had on me.

What a true gent Massimo is, and an utter genius to boot.  Brought more than one tear to my eye.  Keep on trucking, Cybellardinelli!

I'd second the call for A Belardinelli tribute extreme edition.

It's a suprise and a shame that tooth has honoured outsiders like Jack Kirby before but never those who actually worked for it. I had to read about the death of Eric Bradbury here as well as the retirements of Belardinelli and Ron Smith. All of these have been passed without comment in the pages of the comic.
