On-Line Polls

I was just wondering if anyone from Rebellion actually pays attention to the on-line polls? There doesn't seem much point for voting which characters should or shouldn't return if no one from the comic gives a toss. Of course, I'd hate to see reader polls dictate the running of 2K & the Meg.

2000AD, the public access comic, now that's an idea...

Hmmm... I don't know, I think you need a strong Editor with an eye on what the fans want.  You can't give them everything of course, because largely they can't be pleased, don't know what they want or like shite.

Oddboy

Yeh, but you'd hope they look in...
If everyone here was slagging off something for being the biggest pile of poo ever then you'd hope that Tharg'd think twice before getting his droids started on the sequal...
Better set your phaser to stun.

Well, heh, hopefully.  I don't know, the polls for me are really just because I'm interested in what people think.  Even when they are wrong (i.e. they have an alternative opinion to myself).

I'd take a lot of the polls with a pinch of salt, sometimes a poll can be biased, you aren't getting a huge amount of pollsters and sometimes people vote for popular/humerous choices.

But at least a poll of a hundred people is betting than trying to listen to a hundred people all gibbering on.

Very weird to see how the Krool are doing so well in the scary woods poll.

Dear Paul,

I'm sorry this has not to do with the thread, but when I tried to email you it was returned so I think your yahoo mail account is faulty. May be your inbox is full?

i thought you should be told and of course I could not tell you an other way

OK, back to the thread!

Oh but I think you are wrong Christophe, all my posts contained info that was relevant, though as usual a lot of it digressed from the main point, but hey, since when has that ben a crime.

Post one suggested that it wouldn't be such a good idea for an editor to rely on them and Post two pointed out some of the reasons why.

My e-mail isn't faulty to the best of my knowledge, though you never can tell with yahoo.  My inbox is at 12%, what can I say, perhaps it doesn't like the French?  Regardles, I would argue, if I must, that yours was the first post to go off topic, which is okay by me.

OK, back to the thread!

I heard the editor doesn't read the message board, but as the polls appear on the main page, so maybe he gets to see them and some of the other rebellion staff must read them.  There have certainly been a lot of interesting and important topics raised.

Cheers

Paul

Dear Paul,

You completely misunderstand me! I was apoligising because _my_ post was off of the topic, not yours! There is nothing wrong with your posts, but replying to your post was the only way I could tell you about your email account.

I was only trying to help you, I did not mean offense.

Ahhh.... I see.  No, then you have nothing to apologise for.  It was me being rude, sorry.

I've tested my e-mail through another account and it seems fine, however I have had a few 'late' e-mails and my inbox is a bit emptier than usual.  I suspect if an e-mail doesn't work, it may be just best to try again later.  What can I do, its free? Thanks for the warning though :)

christophe

Dear Paul,

my lost email was to make congratulations about your text story 'An Appointment With Death' on the fan input page. But I want to say publicly, not in an email, your Death story is magnificent!

It has the most atmosphere of any text story set in Dredd's world. You have the characters well and the plot is made intelligent and exciting. I enjoyed very well the subtle film references and humor also.

When will you follow the cliffhanger...?

Cheers :)

You are the only person who has ever said a kind word about that one since it was posted, though so far nobody has said an unkind word either :).  I've had some nice feedback and criticism on Natural Born Victims so far.

I gave it a really dull title, I wish I'd called it 'Game of Death' as Appointment with Death has been used before at least twice on covers or next week trailers.

There were quite a few film rerences in, glad you got them, its not the sort of thing I do often, but hey, nobodies paying for it, so I may as well have some fun.

I could do another Dark Judges one sometime, but I have millions of non-paying projects I'm playing around with and it just depends what I fancy doing.  I was working on a Rogue Trooper one, but as ever, I got distracted.  I may be tempted to finish it off before the new series starts.

Cheers again

Paul
