I know it's wrong, but it's always an interesting thread!

This year I was absolutely thrilled by my wife's generosity.
I'm now the proud owner of a digital radio, so I can sit around listening to stuff like the old man I'm rapidly becoming.

She also sorted me out with the box set of Band of Brothers, which I'm really looking forward to seeing for the first time.

My parents embarrassed us with their generosity, sending a camcorder so we can make sure they get plenty of footage of the new baby when he/she arrives in the spring.

I'm very pleased with every present I got, but the real purpose of this thread is nosiness!

What did everyone else get?

- Trout

Artificial Idiot

Latest Rogue Trooper, Two Marvel pocket books (going cheapish in the Works), Hong Kong Phooey & Zippy T-shirts, many, many socks and the best of Siouxsie & the Banshees.

Pretty low key Christmas well. :)

The Amstor Computer

A few neat bits & bobs:

A USB memory stick/keyring device, so I can take large files from computer to computer

Sin City on DVD

A Freeview set-top box

Santa brought me an iPod Nano. Do it rock? Why, yes it do, thankyouforasking.

Tomorrow I will be mostly spending the day filling it with Fields of the Nephilim, Psychedelic Furs and Rammstein [1] whilst leaving about half the space free for t'missus so she will have something to listen to when we plug it into the Bose Sound Dock we're buying in the New Year ...

God bless Santa, the fat, beardy house-breaker.

Cheers!

Jim

[1] Whilst leaving some space free to see if the website I found the other day is lying when it says it can supply me with Zodiac Mindwarp's classic "Tattooed Beat Messiah" and the Godfathers' superb "More Songs About Love And Hate" ...

The Enigmatic Dr X

My birthday is 26th December.

I remember getting an Evil Kenivel bike one year and, about 10am, being told to keep it down (the bike made a vrrrrrrrm noise) because my parents had a hangover.

I was ecstatic that year. I woke up to find the box at the end of my bed and started playing with it, then got shouted down.

I remember, in later years, getting no present. (ie getting the first three fighting fantasy books in a box set, only to have volume three removed and wrapped as a separate present to be given the next day  - guaranteeing double disappointement). Or else the 2000ad annual one day, them the Dredd 24 hours later. Imagine the joy of a 9 year wondering on Christmas if you had the Dredd annual.

Anyway, happy birthday to me. No one else wishes it. No one else will get ne a card. Except Mrs X, whose (genuine) birthday 27/12.
