A while ago (18 months) we were looking to get Zarjaz introduced to the Oxford English Dictionary after it was surprisingly usd in Edge magazine.

I think this is the year to do it. I personally have used it twice now in two different publications.

Duds found a reference where we needed five unique usages within the space of five years.

So we have three (lets not count the Tooth usage, although I'm sure it will work - similarly the exhibition will probably not count). We need more. Let's make a really convincing argument for Zarjaz.

I emplore everyone to start writing into their local newspapers, their favoured 'other' magazines or even in offcial communication with government departments and use the word Zarjaz.

Even if you, yourself are going to get something published, throw a zarjaz in somewhere insignificant (such as a caption) and it will still count.

Let's post the evidence here when it arrives.

I'll dig up my examples.

Who is with me?

If you really want to do it you have to push the meaning of the word beyond the confines of it's original context (ie away from 2000AD). For instance the word 'tardis' was included because it has now become a generic term for something that is bigger on the inside that it looks on the outside (the quote the Good Beer Guide with a pub having a 'tardis-like interior).

That's exactly what I'm trying to do by getting people to chuck its use into all manners of correspondence.

In theory Tardis should be harder to get into the OED as it is a proper noun. Using Zarjaz as an adjective to mean something that's really f*cking cool and exciting should be relatively easier.

Quick work... but I think it's got to be printed sources :<

Seems internet only isn't good enough.

I work for a publishing company that produces a monthly entrtainment rag.

The editor is 2000ad savvy and I'll try to get him to drop in zarjaz into one of his articles.

Devons Daddy

i used it during a recent interview for the straits times about my business, but they failed to print the word.
(buggers)if i have another such article i will try my luck again.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Do they have to be mass-preoduced documents? I could easily include it in all the quotes and proposal documents we send out...

Zarjaz next-day delivery!

AFAIK, the more usages you can show, the more liekly it is to be included.

In preparing this submission, the 18,000+ Google results should be included.
