Wake, I don't seem to be able to get my browser to refresh when I send a message in the chat room. I have to keep refreshing the whole page to see new posts. Can you offer any help? I'm using a Mac with I.E. 5. Cheers Mate!

Are there any other Mac users who have tried the chat room?

The top right white column of the chat room (above the vertical scroll bar) should refresh every 5 second and check for messages.

If there are new messages a piece of javascript is used to automatically submit a form refreshing the chatbody.

Can you work out which bit is failing...the column refresh or the javascript form submit?

I'm a mac bod too, runnin ie5, and the chat room fails to auto refresh.

Don't know much about scipting, but I don't have any trouble on the CBR chat room, well maybe occasionaly, so it could possibly be a submit problem.
IIRC the coloumn would refresh, but fail to call a page, leaving the chat blank, until the refresh button was hit.

saying that though, I thought new macs were pretty  much inbuilt with Java compatability, as microsoft seems so anti the thing, maybe it is an mac ie5 fault, I've had similar problems with other chat rooms around the net.

This is the submit code which appears in the column if the main body needs a refresh:

[SCRIPT LANGUAGE="Javascript"]

function Submitform() {

document.forms[0].submit();

}

function Delay() {

window.setTimeout("Submitform()", 500);

}

[/script]

[body onload="Delay();"]

[FORM METHOD=POST action="chatbody.php3#bottom" target="main"] [/FORM][/body]

Any suggestions as to why this might fail on a mac or another way of getting one frame to refresh another.

Could it be because the javascript is after the [/head] but before the [body] tag?
