I liked Beast myself... which was identical to Jaws... down to ending up with three blokes on a boat alone at the end - one a scientist, one a nutter and one an everyman...  but with a giant squid instead.

The Nazi shark-man thing is possibly one of the worse books I've ever read.

Hello to anyone who remembers me, I do look in here when I can but I'm usually "consumed" by JAWS and related projects these days, I'm heading back to JAWS land again in June, where does the time go.
