Getting really pedantic about guns is a great way to convince people you're a total psychopath.

What, even in the States??

What a great bunch you are.

A bunch of grapes or widgeons, King Trout, but a crowd of people.

I used to despair at psychology students mixing up affect and effect, but now I'm more worried about their grasp of basic English grammar.

A friend at college who teaches Chemistry has told of essays handed in more or less written in TXT ! but they have to be accepted as the english content is not what's being marked

TXT SPK really annoys me.  I shorten the odd word here and there to make a text fit- but that's about it.  Capital letters, correct spelling and reasonable punctuation accompany all of my texts.

Pedant...
Pffft...

Satanist

People (usually managers) who say 110% bring on the red mist.
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

"Home Delivery's Avaliable"

Surely some degree of skill in spelling and grammar is a pre-requisite for becoming a signwriter? What's worse is that the 'restraunter' is probably none-the-wiser either.

Still, it makes me feel superior, so that's quite good. (Although, saying that, I bet neither of them get Jamie Hewlett and Rian Hughes mixed up).

Not in my experience, I know one who couldn't spell Gibraltar. There was briefly a ship getting a refit and paint job in Tyneside that was registered in Gibralter. If you're going to make a spelling mistake might as well do it in letters 10 foot high and let hundreds of people see it.

Could that just be a contraction of "home delivery is available"?

Did you know that marble is always 18 degrees cooler than the air that surrounds it? Celsius of course*

Humphrey Bogart never said "Play it again Sam". Probably Dorothy Parker did, since she said everything.

I too wondered about that apostrophe
