Letter from the NME:

"I think Shampoo are aptly named, since they are a sham, and their music is poo".

Dan Kelly

Found out last month that my housemate had a copy of the Senseless Things' "First of Too Many" which I've been hunting for ages.

I'm a happy boy.

Just this site with links to more 80s music vids I though possible.

Via Youtube I've just reacquainted myself with the holy trio of ZZ Top videos - Legs, Sharp Dressed Man and Give Me All You  Lovin'... after playing that album almost none-stop for about six years I got a slightly tried of it. But by Christ it still kiss ass, even if the hot birds now look more than a little '80s'

It's like fucking Shakespeare

You're so right - Shampoo is the lyrical equivelent of bending the rotting corpse of Shakespeare over a barrel and roundly shafting him up the arse ;)

Shampoo were hot though, in a 'white trash' kinda way. They reminded me of the old Bobby Davro quote to a Scottish audience: "You Jocks like your whisky, don't you. I like my girls like I like my whisky - 16-years-old and mixed up with coke" ...

I'll get me coat ...

I loved 'Sharp Dressed Man', me. Unfortnately Gary's link doesn't work.

Another band I forgot, heard again and liked was Midnight Oil (part of the holy trinity of bands whose names began with 'd'; d'Oils, d'Hunnas* and d'Angels**)

Laser Beans!

I, Cosh

Five minutes of J Mascis noodling about on tyhe guitar while he waited for a roadie to fix the bass amp was the highlight of the Rollercoaster tour many years ago.

The guy's a legend.

Recently, I are mostly been rediscovering Gang of Four and The Associates.

Although I've always *hated* Def Leppard, I do have to admit to having played a cover of Wasted (under duress) in a band that I was in in the early 90s. :s
