Yes, if fact he should be MORE right-wing, then  people will use their cars less and less. All those people in the studio that applaud each self-righteous pro-car comment are in fact doing so because they agree with the exact opposite of what he says - in fact they hate cars. Clarkson's buffoonery will save us all!

But seriously,  did they road test a Lawmaster? Back in the Eighties, when Clarkson was quite fashionable...

You'd actually need a Lawmaster to test. Was a Lawmaster once constructed that I know nothing about?
Nobody warned me I would be so awesome.

Top Gear is a good laugh, I drive, but don't care too much about cars but their sheer enthusiasm and crazy challenges make it entertaining.

And if TG goes, I demand one of Eastenders/Casualty/Holby City/Doctors/Neighbours and any other soap off my screen as recompense.
And yes, Casualty and Holby are now officailly soaps, more interseted in who is shagging who than the sick people makes them so.

I'd rather buy comics than alloys. Cars are a financial drain, a pain in the arsehole and UTTERLY boring. Car geeks are every bit as geeky as trekkies, Dr Who punters, comics nerds and internet message board dorks. Only engine heads are infinitely more boring and wanky. My kids love topgear.... which just goes to show the mentality of the program.
Just a little rough and tumble, Judge man.

It's not the subject of the show that appeals, though. It's the fact that you have three grown men running around like tits with unbridled and frankly infectious enthusiasm. They could all be bacon nerds and the show would be just as good.
Nobody warned me I would be so awesome.

Any show that blows up caravans with such regularity is to be commended.
And yes, it isn't the cars that make the show as much as the sheer fun of twatting about with big heavy, fast things.
And blowing up caravans.
POWER!

I'm in the like show but not into cars camp, its just so entertaining, and last season that i saw they played Konkers with caravans on craines. Gold

:: Car geeks are every bit as geeky as trekkies

Which is exactly why Top Gear is such a great show?it's not about car geeks (although it does slide into car porn territory now and again). The old show was clearly all about that, but the revamp (which came about due to sliding ratings) set about changing it to a far more straight entertainment show. It's telling that Top Gear's audience is apparently higher for women than men, and that so many non-car fans find it fun, due to the irreverent style, fun features (such as the "races", where someone goes by car and others via plane, train and boat), and various celebs tearing round a circuit.

I hope that if this track's use is banned, Top Gear finds somewhere else to set up camp.

Yeah. Lot of fun. Almost nostalgic in inclination. Engineering buzzz and may encourage car theifs into fun and games. But not why I watch.

For the car wash. For the stars who come out of the closet about their own unreasonable infatuation with being racing car drivers.

Scalextric for people who cannot grow up. If its on it'll make life in front of the box a bit more endurable.

I loved Salextric. One of the rare times my dad had genuine fun with me....awww.
