I want your input for the future 2000AD shop that will be happening in the not so distant future. Currently as most of you are aware we're using a template hosted by a 3rd party and I appreciate the feedback that's already been made on it.

There's going to be another version that we're bringing back in house again and I'd like to hear if there's anything in particular that you'd like adding to this shop that would make your browsing lives easier.

I can't guarantee it will get implemented, but we'll certainly try with the good ideas :)

Thanks

Dan Kelly

Simple one.

Get the gear on the store when it's advertised in the Comics.  Or at the very least have ETAs for the stuff.

Case in point.  The new T-shirts.  Been trailed for ages.  Available "Now" according to this weeks issue.  "Soon" according to the shop.

That sort of uncertainty leads people who go to the shop from the comics to go away and not return.

Other than that.  Easy to navigate ;-)

With the T's it was the same for us as for you. We had a few ETA's that have been and gone...I want my fist of dredd one too!

Easy to navigate -- well the one to come should be easy to navigate, how do you find the current one?

I or one would like to hear the dulcid tones of a Mega City Mall in shop easy listening backing track.

Girl from Impanina rim shots type of thing. Elevater Music.Something cheesy helps people feel more at ease to zone in on what they want to look for. Shopping should be made as therapuetic as possible.  Others who feel they are being cohersed into buying should find it more of a challenge to shop without spending too much. Those who want to spend their good hard earned money on what the hell they like thankyou very much, should have a veritable playground to dance madly around in.

Well maintained, so you know what's out and when.

Special offers from time to time.

Simple and clear postage rates.

Free post on orders over orders of X amount.

Good clear photos with optional close ups on designs on t-shirts etc.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Buddy

Discount for buying through shop rather than say.. Forbidden Planet.

Where's the back progs section,hmmm?

T-shirt ordered over 2 weeks ago. No sign of it. And now my e-mails enquiring about it are bouncing back.

For me a new set of 'stuff' would be nice.
I would have thought it would have been easy enough to produce a wide variety of posters for a reasonable price for example.
The upcoming t-shirts are a really good step in the right direction.

And really breaking the shop into 2 categories is a little weak, you need to be able to see all the categories on the front page.
You could have 3 columns between the stuff on the left and the right. Middle for the text that takes up all the middle now and left and right to show off the categories (if that makes sense)

Price is key.

I can get the books cheaper elsewhere, so I don't buy from the shop on this site.

I'd like to be able to tell easier on the shop which style of books the GNs are... which are they the short & stubby US-sized ones or the taller Euro-sized ones?

Just looking at a cover scan gives you no idea of scale.
Better set your phaser to stun.

Also a lack of feedback once you have ordered!!!

Got a mail saying thanks got the order and will process it asap... and then nothing else!

Has it been processed? delayed? etc etc

A mail regarding a shipment date would be nice....

Also as the point made above it should be cheaper here than other places!!! and free UK postage over a certain amount ?100?? would tempt a few people as well.

Right, big ol' reply to you all...thanks for the feedback!

I'm all for adding music, but you guys'd all get peeved off with it after a while I bet :P

"Discount for buying through shop rather than say.. Forbidden Planet."

When you buy online it's going to them anyway, FP are a way for people to buy over the phone.

Will be there on the new one definately!

"T-shirt ordered over 2 weeks ago. No sign of it. And now my e-mails enquiring about it are bouncing back."
There's another post about delays in the order (Thanking Barclays) if you want to send your order number and contact details to web@rebellion.co.uk I'll make sure the warehouse is aware just in case. This applies to anyone in the delay situation!

This was part and parcel of clearing up the old stock recently we're beginning to look into lots of nice stuff :)

"And really breaking the shop into 2 categories is a little weak"
*Thumps current store* indeed it is, new one planned is still going to have 4 catagories on front page to begin with however, Graphic novels, collectables, pre-orders and subscriptions.

"I can get the books cheaper elsewhere, so I don't buy from the shop on this site."
Retailers undercut themselves, which I've always found strange.

"Just looking at a cover scan gives you no idea of scale."
A valid point I'll look into, which do you prefer out of interest?

"Also a lack of feedback once you have ordered!!!"
On larger scale shops, say Amazon for example this would be done by the warehouse. I want to get it so that you have one when it's been shipped, but apparently this hasn't been done yet, so I'll have a look into this for sure.

"Also as the point made above it should be cheaper here than other places!!! and free UK postage over a certain amount ?100?? would tempt a few people as well."
I'll look into mainland for this as outside costs a bomb (Thankyou Royal Mail, can't you just throw it really hard!?...scap that idea).

Cheers Web-bot!

I like the US-sized books...

If I want to see the artwork at it's original published size, well I've got the progs! But the shorter height makes the books all the better for carrying on the bus or on holiday etc.
Also, the chunkier page count of these books is good, and the complete run through of entire series thing they've got going... me likey!

I don't think you'll get a consensus!  The terms "Rainbow Spine" and "Euro Hardback" are euphemisms and so the business probably doesn't want to rely on them, but just giving the dimensions and whether it's paperback or hardback will let shoppers know what they're getting.

(I prefer the rainbow spines myself, in part due to the lower cost and better value for the page count.)
