How come im not able to log into IRC chatroom?

Most (but not all) people use the other chatroom, which is an acquired taste, but okay.  You might get more luck hanging about there.

Wednesdays aren't a strict chat night, people usually turn up most evenings though.  Geek events like Torchwood might mean it kicks off later :)

The irc chatroom needs some sort of plugin or other to use, as I recall.  The only decent version of this needs a subscription, too.  No thanks, mr internet!

Be carefull - last time I downloaded an IRC client it came with some kind of awful spyware attached.

Also like Paul says - The HTML chat is where people actually hang out.
