Mr X is outed as Derek 'Del Boy' Hamill, and I'm sorry I wasn't kinder about your letter!

The Enigmatic Dr X

That's the first time in a long time anyone has evey called me skinny.

Lock up your spoons!

I dunno. Patchy research? Flawed reasoning? Sounds about right for my work.
Lock up your spoons!

Well, I'm still refusing to put pen to paper until old green bonce sends me my gift for the letter he published in the 30th birthday issue. Bah humbug!

I, Cosh

You should write in and complain...

Letter prizes normally appear just before or on the same day as the letter appears thus totally ruining the surprise.I'd send a polite e-mail requesting your Heroclix, which are more of a token gesture than a prize but still most welcome.

As this topic has resurfaced again (and not by me!) I can reveal that the pictures/profiles database is up to 900 and requests for issue numbers can now be accepted, although if you want a scan you can bog off!

I wrote a very polite and mildly jokey complaint. Maybe I should have threatened to send Big Dave round? :-)

Just checked back in Prog 268 - I got a £3 postal order back then! Those were the days!

The drawings have now been fully assessed and they number a mighty 2155 between Progs 8 - 986 and a few Sci-Fi specials.

The first drawing was part of a montage of Readers' alien drawings with the nearest to the wall being 'Orgot' by K. Ruthven of Wallington. The last was a photo of a sculpture of Joe Pineapples in 986 although the last actual drawing was 'Dredd's Worst Dread' by James Barry of Cardiff in 977.

Drawing 1000 was a favourite of mine 'Last of the Summer Judges' by Byron Huxley in Prog 366. Drawing 2000 was 'Death Metal Dredd' by M. Burton of Wales in Prog 825 who strangely also had a drawing of the same name in Prog 819.

Apart from the well documented proto-droids there were few familiar board names, although Michael Crouch of Norwich got two in taking his total publication tally to 16 knocking on the Goggans and Kavanagh doors.

With the task now complete the door is open for any queeries. No, not like that.

The database now numbers 9159 entries and includes Readers' profiles. Only 10 years to letter 10,000!

Oddboy

Wasn't there a reader's painting more recent then that? By Jock's nephew, IIRC.

Or is it disqualified for nepotism?
Better set your phaser to stun.

Lets start the 2155 club.

That's an exclusive club, 2155 and the doors are shut. WE, those of us who had a picture printed, should refuse to talk to lesser morals even if they have been reading since prog 1.

I forgot the nephew pic but shall make up a rule to disqualify it. He's staff, that'll do.

I was surprised too when they petered out - over 10 years since drawings were a regular. I always liked 'Tharg Major' or 'Strontium Pogs' - it was a 'what's hot' of the day.

Bring 'em back Tharg!

No letters review this week in protest at the blank prog. Tom 'Dot' Cotton got his fifth, Jonathan 'The Cow' Cowie his second and two newbies.

As for Huff's suggestion, I know Nathan 'Oddboy' also claims the double with  his infamous 'Good Company' - any other pretenders out there?

The Monarch

I will be pissed if my latest attempt at letter writing is not printed. My canon fodder revolution must begin!

This just in - Tharg thinks we stink!

No letters in four weeks, just one shy of the boycott that will inevitably follow! I've got a team of journos twiddling their thumbs here!

No letter for you or no letters at all?

And how do you know all-seeing letters guru?
