Co-incidently took the fiancee there at the weekend for a bit of Banksy-spotting. There's only about a half dozen left now in Bristol. What the link doesn't show is that the murals/grafitti, only that one is Banksy, go all the way along Cato Street to an alley where they continue left & right. Well worth a visit, just go during the day as it's not the nicest place in Bristol.

Anyone who likes to dabble in graffiti 'art' might like to know about this I found on a film industry board:

Looking for experienced graffiti artist to join our team to help with set decoration on a feature film. Unfortunately, it is not paid but we can offer a credit on a feautre and the cans of paint to play with. (And lunch...)

Please send us images of your work as an application to the email address provided.

Thanks.

Banksy works are like bloody hoodies round my way - they're everywhere.  There's one of his little rats at the bottom of my street, and full-sized paparazzi rat is just round the corner.  The one with the bloke hanging out of the window was the subject of a "don't paint over it" petition recently - just up the road - and the further east you go the more there are.  Oh, and I've seen two of the "sweeping it under the carpet" works - one in Camden, the other - now sadly gone - in Old Street.

Pfft! Nothing that Bansky's done comes anywhere near the sublime quality of "M KAHN IS BENT".

Dunk!

The oldest piece of graffiti in my home town was the classic "ALLPOLICe ARe wanker" on the side of some council flats.

I always thought the authorities didn't clean it off for the shining example it made of the local populace.

Okay, there's been a lot of talk about me being Banksy. Perhaps too much talk. Okay guys, I want to finally set the record straight...

Cathcart Station, Glasgow: "God made wankers big and small, Strathclyde Police employs them all."

A wall in Armadale: "Dale Cumbie rules the wurled."

Banksy: Twat.

All the Banksy stencils in Bergen are long gone, but here are a couple of favourites by one of the locals.

Nobody warned me I would be so awesome.

Banksy's apparently been at work here after going to a gig in Boro. Not seen it yet, but will have an eye out for it on my way into town later. I'm ready to be suitably unamazed, though.

This is assuming the council haven't aready covered it up...

::"The street art enigma known as Banksy, whose true identity is not known"

::"A chimp-faced figure created as a self-portrait by guerilla artist Banksy is expected to fetch £40,000 at auction this month."

He'll have some trouble picking up the 40 grand if nobody knows who he fucking well is.

I'm getting fairly bored of the collective press and their in-joke about good olde Banksy having a secret identity.  Christ, what a load of old wank.  Santa Claus for fucking yuppies.
