Nice to meet everyone from the board there, Ed, Satchmo, Rio, WoD, RAC, Bou, Bolt, Brian O and lovely girlfriend, Olly, Mary, Larf, Noisybast, 54 Jones, LMS, Wake, Mrs Wake, Wake Juniors, Dr Bob, Logan, HoU (and lovely ill girlfriend), Watcher, Smurf...

...and please remind me if I met you as well, as is patently obvious if you met me, bits of my brain are missing, presumed dead.  But I did make a real effort this time to remember people!

There was also a guy who looked very much like Max who I smiled at, but I wasn't convinced it was him.  He may well have just grown up a lot since I last saw him.  If it was, very sorry Max.

Had a very good time, not too strung out on arrival home, despite the biblical rain, six carwrecks we passed on the way home and a scenic detour via the M6 toll road that wasn't planned or even in the right direction.

Did about the same as usual with Omnivistascope (a big thanks for all the support guys it really does mean a lot), got rid of a lot of Solar Winds in the closing down sale!  Only the Sunnies and Issue 6 left.

Thought the 2000AD talk was good, met Edgington and Disraeli again, forgot to get Thrud 5, had a lot to dink on Friday, fell asleep at 9 on Saturday.

Possibly one of the best Bristols I've been to.

Cheers everyone!

Max Kon

It wasn't me you saw. Not a good time for me, with first exams in a weeks time i didn't really have enough free time to make it there.

If i had been there i'd have said hello.
And why would you have been sorry if it was me?

paulvonscott

"And why would you have been sorry if it was me?"

That was suspiciously quick, Max :)

I'd have been sorry it was you, because I didn't say hello and stop to chat!  As I said, I wasn't convinced, but there was a hint of Max about him :)

I'm glad you all had fun, but I think Molcher's ASBO forbids him from getting that close to a woman...

Oh and can I just say Ben Clark has a Griefbringer comic out, which was on sale at Bristol.  It features a brand new epic for Griefbringer, which is bloody brilliant.

It also includes all the strips from Solar Wind 1-7 and added features include deleted scenes and a map of the lands of Griefbringer.

Griefbringer was often cited as the best thing in the comic, so it really deserves your support!

Our first Bristol, very nice to meet everyone and put faces to names. Spent most of the budget on the Saturday and spent Sunday looking at lots of lovely art I could ill afford but did get loads of fantastic sketches.

Thanks to all the boarders for being such a friendly lot and to PVS for the free moustache that caused much hilarity on the train home. And Wils for the cardboard advice!

Top marks all round to all the artists, especially Rufus, Boo & Gemma, Kev Crossley, Dave Kendall & D'Israeli. This is D'Israeli on the Sunday morning.

Well I saw a couple of people but I spent most of the day trying to calm down after getting really freaked out because some poor chap badly stacked it and started fitting right in front of me. Had to have a very difficult conversation with the emergency operator as it was really noisy. Luckily there was a doctor on hand and the ambulance crew turned up very quickly. But as I said I was pretty freaked out most of the day (I get panic attacks and have asthma not the best combination) and so really didnâ??t say hello to many people and had a slight misunderstanding right after the man falling over with Glenn Fabry as I asked him to draw me what ever he wanted maybe his fav super hero and he was taken aback as like most con artists is used to getting requests and I said â??well do what you want because your not my pencil monkeyâ? and he slightly misheard me. whoops! Did get cleared up but yeahâ?¦.
Had many high lights though. Meeting Jennie Breeden of the Devils Panties web comic (who came to Bristol all the way from Atlanta, Georgia and her publisher from Silent devil.  Did at that point have a random convocation with the above mentioned Mr Molcher after shouting out "the end is nigh" randomly. Extra Special moments where Making Matt Brooker smile by asking for a picture of a pot of Star Brand fish Paste (... Mmmm fishy goodness) and randomly sharing a lunch table with what turned out to be Dave Taylor and having a really cool talk with him.

Thats a great pic, love the way that the ever considerate Mr d'izzy contorted himself for your camera.

Had a great time and agree with PVS, this is possibly the best Bristol I've been to.

Bolt-01

btw- that's not Solomon Ravne- he's a boarder...

Dunk!

The one Bristol I can't make in 5 years is the best folks have been to?

Bloody typical! Mutter, grumble, moan...

Keep the photos and stories coming though, they're enlightenting a miserable grey Monday morn.

Hi Bolt - sorry i missed you on Sunday.

Top weekend lads. Managed to bump into Bolt/Mini Bolt, RAC, Bou, Molcher, Usher, PVS, Ben Clark, Byron and a few others from the board.

Got a nice Lazarus Churchyad off D'Israeli and some business cards and try outs from the likes of DC and Markosia respectively.

I'm skint!

It was me sat opposite you in the pizza place Larf! It was great to meet you too mate.
I really think it was my favourite Bristol so far, I had such a brilliant time. Highlights were meeting Edgy and Disraeli, getting my Dredd badge off Wake, and *cough* the girl who was dressed as The Black Cat :)
I was gutted for the Futurequake and Sancho crews at the awards, they wuz robbed! And Tom Frame should have won the Roll of Honour, theres no bloody justice :(

Matt Timson

I was only there for the day on Saturday- so who won what at the Eagle Awards?  Did Dez Skinn manage to make a fool of himself again this year?
Pffft...
