Dez didn't turn up I don't think, but they were taking the piss about last years "Skincident" when Matt got up to collect best editor.
Warren Ellis and Nextwave seemed to win every other award, he won roll of honour too, over Tom Frame and Alex Toth. John Cassaday was best penciller I think, Marvel best publisher, tooth won best British comic naturally, and Norman Lovett presented with his comedy stylings and general japery :)

Dunk!

Someone MUST have a picture of this?

Had a great time at the Con.

After drinking on the train down from Scarborough on Friday night (my wife was in Eurodisney so I did it for old timeâ??s sake) and then walking for what seemed like hours failing to find any where decent to eat in Bristol I was quite knackered by Saturday.

Forbidden Planet goodie bag was quite good fun. Did anyone else get Robo-Hunter Verdus in theirs?

Spoke to PVS, Ben (Satchmo?),Bart Diaz and 54 Jones. Nice to meet you all.

Picked up my pre paid badge which Wake had left for me at the FQ/Dogbreath Stand. Kept on missing him but it really is something to behold so thanks Wake. Met  Firey Bou, Dave Kendall, Bolt and Richmond (didnâ??t catch your board alias).

Bought some stuff (Alice in Sunderland, Invasion, Complete Bone) but was pretty skint so never got round to shelling out for sketches.

Was going to go to the Ramada bar on Saturday night to continue talking â??bollocksâ?? but went back to my room and proceeded to fall asleep until the wee small hours. Will have to make more of an effort at the next Dreddcon.

Only made it to three talks. Really enjoyed the Alan Davies/ Mark Farmer panel. Really didnâ??t picture Alan Davies as looking like that (bit chubby/white curly hair). I was convinced heâ??d look like Harry Twenty or the bloke from that Future Shock, Itâ??s a Mad, Mad, Mad World. Donâ??t ask me why.

Also enjoyed the 2000ad talk but kind of wish Iâ??d thought of more things to ask  Tharg.

SPOILERS IF ANYONE CARES

Only remembered to ask at the end if there was more Strontium Dog coming up (There is, â??The Glum Affairâ?? which leads on from â??Traitor to His Kindâ??.).

Also Ace Garp is likely to be collected in the Extreme Editions. Al Ewingâ??s Tempest sounds very exciting and bonkers (Ninja Judges in the Underworld). Canâ??t recall whoâ??s drawing it though.

Mattâ??s true vision of the Meg will be starting next year after certain stories have run their course.

Anyway lots of fun.

Richmond Clements

Met Firey Bou, Dave Kendall, Bolt and Richmond (didnâ??t catch your board alias).

That would have been me!

Nice to meet you too. It was a great weekend, even though we didn't win- but the guys who did were really bloody nice and fully deserve it.

Though, anyone who was there will know the REAL highlight of the entire enterprise was the Green Lantern ring in the goodie bag!

And that brings me on to the greatest Act of Random Kindness that mankind has ever seen: upon hearing I had left my ring back in the hotel on Sunday morning, the eonderful Ben Satchmo kindly arrived at our table with another for me. What a guy!!

And Ben- I read Griefbringer last night- it's fucking awesome!

Art

Pah, our block voting is weak. What won? Looks like the Warren Ellis crew swept the board on everything else...

Roll of Honour

Happy to oblige - if this works. Been a while since I've posted any images. Here goes.http://photobucket.com" target="_blank">http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c381/HouseofUsher1/BlackCat.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket">

Not sure Mr Ellis would be best please about the roll of honour award though he recently indicated in a reply to a feverish fan boy message that Tom Frame should get that particular vote.

House of Usher

I'm not sure how I cocked that up to get a little box with an 'X' in it at the bottom left-hand corner, there. At least the picture appeared.
STRIKE !!!

COMMANDO FORCES

I like the little x in a box.

We should have more of them!

Dan Kelly

Warren is pretty bemused at having won anything, and has indeed confirmed that he shouldn't have received Roll of Honour - and that it should have gone to Tom.

He went as far to say that they should have rigged the Eagles that way

House of Usher

Kids, y'see? They don't know British comics, they don't know 2000ad, and they don't know the work of Tom Frame. But Warren Ellis is teh kewl. Not his fault, but that's the reality of situation, I think.
