Ah, so I was actually wrong: Edge didn't ignore pre-SNES gamesâ??there was, um, Robotron! Great. Good to see all those genuinely timeless games from the 1980s totally ignored, then. (Frankly, any list of this kind lacking Elite and Boulder Dash is massively suspect.)

As for your comments, there were two that struck me:

I guess this is a Marmite game, but this was my favourite purchase of 2006. It was great to see a game in the racing genre that was actually fun once again, rather than a tedious slog through licences and other junk (see: Gran Turismo). I really loved almost every aspect of it. The controls are fab, the challenges are mostly interesting, and the graphics are gorgeous. The music, however...

Probably Edge still trying to atone for its ridiculous half-page dismissal of the game (7/10) when it originally reviewed it, what with Edge supposedly being about the 'future of gaming'. Personally, I'd find it hard to omit Wario Ware from a top 100, and it should probably feature in the top half. Then again, if this was my book, I'd have done the thing alphabetically, rather than as an ordered countdown.

Everything is fookin' lists today. Channel 4 should devote a channel to these C&C (C*nts and clips) extravaganzas.

Here's a list of things I hate about them:

1) Jobs for tossers saying "Who remembers Bagpuss?'
2) They last for 4 hours
3) They often feature Terry Christian
4) There is an ad break every 5 minutes.
5) The one item you are interested in is skimmed over while 'Byker Grove' gets 10 minutes.
6) They are lazy and formulaic TV
7)Who compiles the lists anyway?
8) The Channel 4 ones have a total bias towards their own show presumably as they don't have to pay for clips.
9) 'Top 100 breasts on the box' has yet to be comissioned
10) Twats like me invariable watch them right through encouraging even more barrel scraping.

As for the games mag I wouldn't pay £10 for a magazine unless it came with a free gift of 10 £1 coins.

And I had never played Halo until very recently. In my opinion it is completely overrated. I found it a very generic FPS with added annoying features (eg: 'realistic' weapon carrying capability). And about three different enemies. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, I dunno.

Where's the PC RPG's?
Planescape:Torment, Fallout 2, Baldurs Gate II.  At least one of those should've made the list.

I personally would've placed Sensible Soccer higher, it's my favorite football game of all time for it's sheer energy and an absolute blast against friends.  The more photo-realistic FIFA and Pro Evo get the less interested I am for some reason.
I'd also stick Dungeon Master and Speedball 2(same reasons as Sensi) in there as well.
