Well I'm critter, hence the icon. My real last name is Crites...the movie critter was Krites. So it seemed only natural.

I, Cosh

Cosh: who was the other one?

Boringly enough it was John Peel. When that headline flashed up on BBC News I had to make a beeline for the bathroom so my minions wouldn't see me display emotion!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a photo of Peel gurning like a triumphant loon for my icon.http://www.carbonsports.com/Standardelemente/Galeriebilder_Alp_dHuez/1024x768/ROT_PANTANI_0408.jpg">

I chose mine because it's a reasonable picture of me.  Since I have no corporeal existence, I might as well look good.

At one hundred and fifty one years of age, I'm definitely too old for cartoon icons.

Here's one of my looking a little like Nikolai Dante (but not acting like him)http://www.tcnj.edu/~bearer/shaw352.jpg">

"This is weird...I always thought it was Dredd's helmet...but now I can't see it at all, just the boys. Kind of like the 'old womans - pretty girl' optical illusion."

I thought the exact same thing!

Neat hair George! but you must really give the beard a trim...

Trout

Nice one, Cosh. I quite like Vladimir Karpets, but only for his name.

I have had this with lots of icons.

I  can see the two kids now but if it hadnt been pointed out then i would never have noticed. Theres quite a few others that are open to interpretation as well.I almost dont want to know what they really are.

Thanks for the reply   C.forces  . You sound like you enjoyed it !  I would enjoy trying it out as well . But not today as i feel like death. I have done 18 miles in 3 hours across the downs but you have are weighed down by all that kit as well so i cant compare to your achievements and i am not trying to either. The very thought of it !!

Thank you Mogzilla.  I never really got the beard right, but life is too short to worry about such things. Is this better?http://cricketpunjab.com/sportscom/images/georgebernardshaw.jpg">

Very smart , i fancy some fish fingers now for some reason!

The Enigmatic Dr X

My name was the result of the despairing search for a hotmail address, which I no longer use.

It is a homage to the Enigmatic Johnny Q, who made me laugh out loud.

The icon, well I like Dr Who.

Just commenting on the Cosh's Icon now enlarged.

The person in the photo shrunken down to icon size always had always given me the impression of a dangerous desperate person.

I once though this picture may have been a enraged sporting fan than the sportmans this turns out to be. As that person is revealed to be raising his arms in triumph. The facial expression has me thinking otherwise.

I also know that a Cosh is sand bag weapon used to knock people unconsious.

My picture was the only Zenith one I could find (if I have got it to work), because I couldn't be bothered to get another.  My haircut is curretnly quite similar to his haircut in books 2 and 3, so they would have been ideal choiuces, but alas.

My comes from the fact I had forgotten what the password, or even name of my account, from a few years back, so I made a new one.  The Steve Coogan sitcom 'Saxondale' had just happened to have begun the night before.

"what album is it ? i just cant work it out."

Sorry for the delay replying ... the icon is the cover artwork for "Elizium" by the Fields of the Nephilim ... technically, I suppose it was the back cover, but since it has all the lettering on it, I've always thought of it as "the cover" ...

Cheers

King Trout I quite like Vladimir Karpets, but only for his name.

Ah yes. The sub-editor's favourite cyclist.

Karpets floored by drug revelations!

Karpets laid six times in steamy night of passion!

Did you know there's another old pro called Pascal Lino? What a night it would be if they went out on the tiles together.

ThryllSeeker: I once thought this picture may have been a enraged sporting fan than the sportmans this turns out to be. As that person is revealed to be raising his arms in triumph. The facial expression has me thinking otherwise.

To be fair, that photo is of Pantani's victory on Alpe d'Huez in 1997. He's just ridden that bike up 13.8 kilometres of mountain with an average gradient of 8.1%. After already riding about 100km to get to the bottom. And he's done it in 37 and a half minutes, so he probably was a bit desperate by then!
