Watched The life of Brian last night - in my opinion, the funniest film ever made, closely followed by Withnail & I.

What are your all-time funniest films or film moments?

"You mean you were raped?"  "Well yes, at first!"http://garotasquedizemni.ig.com.br/archives/life_of_brian.jpg">

Life of Brian's up there. As is Spinal Tap, Airplane. Have also received jaw-ache from M P's The Holy Grail, most of the Kevin Smith and The Comic Strip Present's films and a fair few of Terry Gillian's.

I have to go for Life of Brian as No. 1 too, it is literally asphxyia-inducingly funny.  After that, probably The Big Lebowski, which reduces me to incoherent tears of laughter, and then A Night At The Opera, and A Shot in the Dark.  This is Spinal Tap is in there too, as is (god help me) Ace Ventura

Funt Solo

I was determined not to like Ace Ventura, because I'd seen an interview beforehand with Jim Carey, who was refusing to come out of the character of a really obnoxious, needy prima donna.

Spliff-fueled, I laughed like a drain pretty much from start to finish.  (I didn't laugh once during the sequel.)
An angry nineties throwback who needs to get a room.

I didn't laugh once during the sequel

I don't think anyone did.

Life of Brian favourite line changes all the time.
At the moment it's, 'Should be a good one today. Local boy.'

Trout

Life of Brian is genius.

So is Young Frankenstein.

But the one comedy film I keep watching over and over is South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.
I've never had much interest in the TV show, but the film - well, longer episode - just works so well.
It's a great musical, with wonderfully puerile humour.

You donkey-raping shit-eaters.

Buddy

On the Jim carrey front, that split personality one he made (me, myself & irene??) was on last night and I found myself laughing outloud to it.

Much to my suprise.

TordelBack

Hmmm, and I quite rate The Cable Guy and Dumb and Dumber  too.  And yet if you asked me to go to a Jim Carrey movie, I'd probably say 'ugh',

I watched Top Secret again recently- still some brilliant bits

The singing horse had me laughing out loud and too long

even the memory of it cracks me up

Through power, I gain victory.

Anchorman never fails to tickle my funny bone, there's too many great lines to mention really.
