The wife and I have been trying to complete a quiz where all the answers are underground stations.
For example, Taxi for a candle? Hackney Wick.
Line up for botany? Kew Gardens.

Out of 100 questions we have seven to go and a few we're not sure of. I'm not the best at cryptic clues and we've been trying to finish it for a while now. Any help would be appreciated.

1. Smashes Legend?
2. eg Cape Town or Jo'burg until recently?
3. Plenty of Oxo here?
4. What would make the appointed ruler catch fire?
5. Secret place of a socialite making first appearance at court?
6. A split island in the Med?
7. Wrong instrument for the Trumpet Voluntary, but right location?
8. With what and where William Tell was inclined to shoot the apple?
9. A Biblical tree?
10. From where the new England manager will be announced?

Actually the question for Elephant and Castle was Jumbo and a Rook!

Bloody thanks for Harrow on the Hill. The actual question had 'shoot the Happle' which we took for a typo. Really been bugging me.

Many thanks all, almost got the lot now.

The OXO Tower is indeed near Southwark station (as well as others)...though if it is correct it's the only clue that requires local knowledge rather than wordplay.

Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.
