Ideas for Prog 2008

I know its going to be a lovely bumper issue, but I do miss the old free gifts of yore. I loved the Micro Guides from prog 800ish, and even enjoyed the puzzle given away once with the Megazine. But my best gift would have to have been the playing cards.

Now if you could give away a collectable card game/top trump type deck then that would be the mutts nuts......

Anyways, keep up the good work peeps. The Meg and 2000AD are on a real high at the mo.

The Meg gave a deck of playing cards away some time ago - it was nice deck too.

My suggestion for prog 2008 is make it worth the money and don't give it a shit cover, as has been the case on a number of occasions in the past.

I would dearly love them to commission a retro-style cover, and use the first 2000AD logo as a capper to the 30th anniversary.

I'm not that fussed about free gifts, but here's an idea.

Get one of the artists at Rebellion to build a 3D-Model of a character (take your pick) which is then run through that paper model software, and print it on nice glossy card...

How about a proper set of top trumps along the line of the playing cards we had not long ago.
I know we had them early in the life of 2000ad but you had to cut the progs up.

I have played that game many a time and I had to wean myself off it as I got nothing done!
I still would like the physical thing in my hand so I can relish the art and collect more stuff.

only one thing can make prog 2008 truly awesome and thats the inclusion of a canon fodder star scan similar to the ones for other characters we have had in the past few years ;)

Aieee! Stuck in the office on a late shift and sucked in by the Top Trumps!

But it throws up some really interesting combinations:

Hammerstein versus Kano. I'd love to see that.

Zenith versus Revere. Less entertaining as a strip, but Zenith would kick his arse!

Shako versus Satanus. A tasty snack for someone.

Joe Pineapples versus Slough Feg. Okay, Pat, stop it now!
