So........um.........quite the noodle-scratcher anyway.

I honestly don't know what to think of this film. It's somewhat rum and uncanny. I frankly have no idea what the hell was going on for most of it. Not that that in itself is a bad thing, but I heard more than a few people sharing the same sentiments upon leaving the cinema.

It is however, very funny in places. The Rock (for he shall never be Dwayne) gets one of the best lines ever uttered in film. If I repeat it here it will kinda spoil what plot there is, but it's a doozy.

I was never a massive fan of Donnie Darko (I got all the hype in the face and didnae see it for years afterwards and it struck me as an overrated oddball movie that shouldn't have got as far as it did) - this Southland Tales thing looks satisfyingly bizarre though... amidst trailers for no-brainer American propaganda films like 'National Treasure 2: Revenge of Nicholas Cage's Melting Face' and 'Hilary Duff and Her Extraordinarily Pointless High School Activities' this looks like something different and for that reason alone it might be worth watching

Well, it sure is something different.

I'm determined to give it a shot, having loved Donnie Darko. Will probably have to wait until dvd now though, as the cinema here already have it down to barely any showings so by the time I get the chance it'll be gone.
