That guy really does have the 2000 AD bug, doesn't he? Interesting to see how Droid Life's gone down with someone relatively new to the comic, though. For anyone who's not yet bought a copy, it's a really neat little book - a real gem.

Dark Jimbo

Surprised that it's so glowingly positive, as I'd have thought that most of the 'P14 has written an awful script for an old favourite' strips wouldn't really make sense unless you'd read the strips in question.

Ah well. Always nice to read his reviews.

this guy loves tooth and deserves praise for bringing thrill power top the masses in the US, He does love Slain unfortunatly.

Personally, I think the stuff reprinted so far is pretty much the pinnacle of that strip (bar, perhaps, some of that Tomb of Terror stuff), and so it's actually well worth a read. (Who couldn't like Sky Chariots?)

And, yeah, it's great to see him regularly reviewing (and praising) Rebellion stuff. When I emailed him a while back, it turned out that he's a thoroughly nice chap, too.

The Adventurer

No matter how I tackle it, I just can not get into Slaine, I don't know if its the Millsisms or the fact that I am not a Swords and Sorcery genre fan. But I just can't find anything to like in Slaine, not the early stuff or the new stuff.

I found that I enjoyed DL a lot more in book form then in weekly (read: one every few weeks, two in a row if we're lucky) chunks. The parody strips, which I've never been all that keen on, were a lot less numerous than I remember, and the "arcs" become a lot clearer. I still think
£5.99 is a bit too much though. £5.49 maybe?
