Nah ... Gibbons gave an interview at the time he was working on Watchmen, or shortly after, in which he spoke about a number of uncanny coincidences whilst working on Watchmen, one of which was the discovery that NASA had pictures of a smiley on Mars after Moore had decided to set a whole issue there ...
