There is some nice and rather gruesome John Higgins art in the current issue (No.28) of DC's always entertaining Jonah Hex.

Yes Jonah, it is.

And don't forget that there's always some nice (and occasionally rather gruesome) John Higgins art to be found http://www.turmoilcolour.com>here.

Good call Mike. Here's a direct link to Newsarama's interview with John about this very issue...

I also just dropped Hex.
If they'd brought a decent artist in quicker, it might have held my attention. Some of the art's been dreadful - just slapdash crap, like a cheapo Eurocomic.

I quite liked Jordi Bernett's run meself, I thought it suited the 'Spaghetti' Western tone of the book quite well.

Takes all kinds eh?

Again, I liked the art on the book but I think it may have limited the range of stories they could tell, a lot of the humourous and odd stories have been replaced by grim and nasty. Still loving the book though.

Plus it's great to have a regular non-superhero title from one of the majors.

Absolutely, though the recent tone of stories - Grindhouse western - makes Hex as near Vertigo as makes no difference.
