Cars. Even with reference I've just never been able to get my head around them. They always look shit.

oh and full figures, legs and feet icant be arsed and it shows...

Mardroid

I have some difficulty with faces. And getting eyes to look right. When I draw them realistic they tend to look starey. I think it's because I go into too much detail, more than you would see at a distance.

Interesting to see many actual comic artists have the same problem though. (Take that big robo suit thing last year as an examle. I forget the name. The one with the extradimensional dinosaurs.)

Noisybast

Hands. It's mittens all round, I'm afraid.
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Slippery PD

I cannot draw to save the life of my first born, my second born, my wife, my mother or any other member of my family.  Unless its a good stick figure!

Ah Jim, you've fallen into five of the traps that many fledgling artists do. Please observe and admire this masterpiece and learn from it.

Yours artistically

The Adventurer

Hands and feet are my bane. As are backgrounds.

And you know... EVERYTHING ELSE.

But I still draw.

Some recent examples just for fun (and profit*)...

In 2001 I started doing these terrible Nintendo Fan comic strips. They were GARBAGE. But they got me drawing a bit.

I did this back two or three years ago, spurred me start drawing again regularly.

This is an attempt at sequentials I did a few months ago (Doctor Who parody comic strip I'm dabbling in)its just pencils darkened in photoshop, not inked

Did this for another forum where I participate during a weekly art group

Recent piece I did for the January Art Comp (well, actually it was for a different forum first, but it works here too)

I really should take some art classes. Learn some basics, because playing it by ear is not really working for me.

i hate anything technical, cars and BIG ROBOTS.

i did a horrible warm up excersice with art class yesterday 30 seconds or so "quick draw your favorite food, a happy face, somewhere you'd like to be, fave film star etc " 8 doodles on a page they were waiting for some deep psychological insight laughing at their attempts... erm no i just made it up...

the point being, drawing is about getting a pencil on a page & communicating, just do it, good or bad.

Keef Monkey

I know this thread's for people who CAN draw but just aren't good at drawing certain things, but as someone who can't draw a single thing to save his life I just wanted to salute the budding artists on the forum. There's a lot of talent on here.
