Baby wipes is an interesting idea. Do they contain small amounts of baby oil, or what?

For comics I'd say yes, safest just to leave them.

For glossy, hardback annuals, I have found lighter fluid and a cotton bud can yield satisfactory results. But I'm not recommending anything here, just saying.
