Although my copies haven't arrived just yet, I just saw The Final Solution and the Judge Death book in Forbidden Planet, London. The good news regarding Final Solution is that all the extras are in (two extra one-offs and Top Dog) *and* the trade dress not only matches the chunky volumes, but it's marked as book 5. The bad news... well, there is no bad news. Repro looks good, so go buy it now, people.

The Death book also looked good repro-wise, and has a wee extra in the form of a McCrea-illustrated black and white story, along with an afterword by Doherty.

Speaking of Top Dog, I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of the original artwork for the amazing page shown below. For me it comes amazingly close to Carlos' "Who's gonna mess with us?" page.

I'm so happy!!!http://www.comicartfans.com/Images/Category_4062/subcat_34045/TopDog20.jpg">

Anyone know what stories are going to be reprinted in the forthcoming Anderson collection?

hurrah! Knew i should have gone into FP tonight.  Well done Jon - sounds like a good round up of Stronts in there - certainly the inclusion of Top Dog and the other bits and pieces is enough to more than compensate for any squeamishness I might personally feel about the merits of FS! Making it book 5 is the icing on the cake really, as even with my aforementioned views on FS, it certainly deserves to be part of the full run rather than a distinct book, and with the cliffhanger ending to book 4 especially, it just makes sense - yay!

Pete - e gads, that's a great image to actually own the orginal of, even if it doesn't show Alpha fighting back!

One of my big gripes in Judgement Day is the ease with which Dredd dispatches Alpha and Sadu.  I know that in 'reality', Dredd would win an Alpha/Dredd fisticuff bout, but I love the balance that Top Dog achieves, and the way Alpha puts up a good account of himself before the issue of who is gonna win gets nicely ducked!

Yeowch! I'm really looking forward to this Volume.

Respect to Jon for a top job on this collected series. It has set the bar way high.

Bah! This makes me even more annoyed that I had to go to the dentist after work and ended up missing FP. It will be mine soon.

I'm not even a fan of Top Dog and don't really think of it as a "proper" SD story, but I'm very happy to hear that they've revised it and included all the extras people want. It's better to have it and me be able to flick past it, than it be the one thing missing.

We never really die.

Well done, it's turned from a book I wasn't going to buy, into one I will!

Dark Jimbo

What cover did it have, Indigo? The spoilery-johnny-with-no-eyes one?

Yes - the cover is identical to the thumbnail on the trades site.

I want to say a sort of dusty blueish colour. However, the real answer is: I can't remember. By the way, if anyone's rattling around London, one thing I do remember is that FP has money off the new books - a good few quid, too.

Just got FS. I left Young Death alone, as I already own the Hamlyn/Mandarin edition.

'What colour was the spine?'

A pale green.

'Anyone know what stories are going to be reprinted in the forthcoming Anderson collection?'

TBC, but I know that its almost certainly going to be all early Arthur Ranson stuff. I'd hazard a guess at 'Shamballa', 'The Jesus Syndrome',  'The Protest', 'The Witch? Report', 'Triad', 'Reasons to be Cheerful' etc.

I'd really like a comprehensive Anderson collection, including 'Childhood's End' and 'Postcards from the Edge', but we'll wait and see.

Sorry for double posting, but I also wanted to add my thanks to Jon and team for their efforts in putting this book together, (and I include Indigo in that).

I've been waiting for this storyline to be collected properly for over ten years. I used to try and buy up all of the back progs to read it, but was always missing a few.
