Glad you liked the comics though 'Iamthesystem' Always nice to hear feedback.

Quote from: "peterwolf"That is completely absurd.Apple must be being very very careful as its a new format and they dont want to lose potential revenue but thats a massive overreaction from Apple [rather like GRs reaction to my alleged Racism.I am not a Rascist and i frequently attack Rascists but no offence taken and apologies for any offence caused for material that is misinterpreted or taken out of context] .The comments posted so far say it all.I have seen far more graphic violence in the prog both now and when i started reading in the early days.

I am tempted to add a comment saying the same as well.

 Hope it gets sorted out.

I think that basically if you mention anything to do with race the 'powers that be' tend to frown upon it. You were quite right to point out that Georgia attacked Ossetia first peterwolf but whether Israeli's were involved in this is probably not true. That's why the hackles got raised though frankly we're all adults here and you should be able to say what you believe if you think that's what happened. We've had a fright in the west with the expansion of NATO taking almost for granted now events in the caucaus's have put pay to that. The bear is back !

It is absolute fact that Israel invests money in the regime in Georgia. It is no secret .

"The value of realized Israeli investments and projects in the country amounts to $700 million to $800m, according to the chamber."

The above quote was cut and pasted from this article in the business section of the Jerusalem Post:

Russia is free of debt to the west but the above figures give you an idea of the scale of investment that the Russians could attract and receive from the "West" if they opened themselves up to it.

Its all very murky World Politics but once you understand what makes it tick its very easy to understand .

Apologies for going off-topic a bit, but will Murderdrome be kiboshed or moved onto another format, maybe like that Rokcomics thing (which I notice has a voluntary and easy-to-grasp ratings system)?  And what next for Infurious Comics - is the application going to be resubmitted to the Apple store thing without Murderdrome as a part of the package?  'Previously' has a good selection of material that can be offered instead of Murderdrome, surely?  Or Al's Ultimate Future Shock-style comics?
Seriously good idea on show here, and I think you should press on aggressively, regardless of minor stumbles.

Hear, hear.  And more to the point, I want to read the bloody thing!

Hello, been buried in stuff so, to answer some questions:

" but will Murderdrome be kiboshed or moved onto another format, "

Not yet - waiting to hear from someone senior at Apple - the main person who could make a decision (and the decision will either be 'we don't want your kind around here, you filthy adult material' or 'blimey, we'd better introduce a rating system for all books then' the first is the default option when you don't have a rating system, the second requires someone in authority to decide it)

Will it move into another format? It was drawn very specifically as a US comic size page - with four panels per page - each panel mapping almost perfectly to the iPod. So it'll fit either format, anything else would need serious editing, and I've yet to see something it'd be enjoyable to read a mobile comic on other than the iPhone/iPod touch

"And what next for Infurious Comics"
We have big plans, include a left turn so cool that ... well... I'm saying nothing, but it'll not be what you're thinking...

" is the application going to be resubmitted to the Apple store thing without Murderdrome as a part of the package?"

The application is a comic reader with comic content knitted into it - without content it's useless (and there's reasons that that isn't going to happen anytime soon - they're good reasons, incredible reasons, even...)

"'Previously' has a good selection of material that can be offered instead of Murderdrome, surely?"

Infurious was all about creating completely NEW material for the iPhone. Because I drew it from scratch I was able to include the pencils that would normally have long since been obliterated by pencils and I was able to draw it to fit the medium exactly.

Well, the banning has garnered us WORLDWIDE media attention (albiet more about Apple doing the banning than how about the comic) including (in their online technology blogs) the Wall Street Journal, Fortune magazine and hundreds of IT / Mac websites.

It's been anything BUT a setback.

Quote from: "pjholden"It's been anything BUT a setback.

Unless some effer swoops in with their own knock-off - which isn't beyond the realms of possibility given you're aiming for 22 pages of high-quality American format pages and someone else could concievably just throw any old rubbish together and jam it into the format.  But you've got a good marriage of content, delivery method and some ideas for the new format with the 'interactive ashcan' thing, so I think as long as you don't get pipped by something really amazing that someone's been cooking for the last year or so in secret, you'll do well.

Ermmm... I'll have a guess.  Either:
1 - shorter, but made-for-the-format visual content, with sponsorship in the form of 2-3 second advertisements in strategic points throughout.  If it follows the development of internet programming content, this will probably mean animation at first, followed by vignettes centering around existing television shows, then expanding into movies, possibly available in chapters.
2 - some sort of Youtube analogue, hosting video files created via the iPhone, perhaps with a Twitter-esque updating/comments thread for each file allowing for a social networking element.
3 - free trans-gender surgical proceedures to every person who downloads the Infurious Comics app, who won't be told that when they wake up after the operation, they'll be the unwilling participants in a 'There's Something About Miriam'/'Death Race' hybrid reality show located on an island where United Nations law doesn't apply and deeply confused men and women die horrifically in an arena of gladiatorial combat for our amusement in a subscription-only iPhone exclusive.

My money's not on 3, but Al Ewing's presence compels me to voice it as a possibility.

QuoteWell, the banning has garnered us WORLDWIDE media attention (albiet more about Apple doing the banning than how about the comic) including (in their online technology blogs) the Wall Street Journal, Fortune magazine and hundreds of IT / Mac websites.

Still good publicity though, as people seek out that 'naughty comic' which caused all the controversy.

I liked it myself. Violent and gorey yes, but the humor just offsets that.
