what do they mean?

I don't get the little icons to the left of thread topics on the index - y'know, scrolling black 'text' lines, static text lines with a red star etc - wossatallabahtden?

I hadn't really thought about it, but I believe scrolling lines means a multi-page thread and a star means you've posted on it.
