Hi All

I wrote a letter to Tharg in 1977, and it was published. I no longer have that edition of 2000AD. How would I go about finding out which edition it is, and reading what I wrote?

Well as all the letters published in 1977 were from Earthlings of one sort or another you'll have to help narrow it down. If you let people know your name and what town you lived in back in 1977 I'm fairly sure someone here will be able to find it, possibly even scan it for you. But, you know, you'll have to help refine the search parameters a little.

Someone will be with you shortly, Earthling.

COMMANDO FORCES

Buttonman where are you in Earthlings hour of need!

Bouwel

Any idea what the letter was about? Going by cover dates only if it was printed in 1977 it'll be in a prog between 1 and 45 inclusive.

More details, and I'll see what I can do.

<splutter. sorry I'm late held up with the snow... Anyway 1977 saw 97 readers see their name in print but 42 of them were for drawings. The remaining 55 are listed below - take your pick! The number is the prog and they are out of order due to database peculiarities.

Yay, there he is! We were worried about you for a minute there BM -should've known better! Now let's just see if Peterwolf has referenced any racial sterotypes yet to the nice new Swedish lady... ah yes, there we go! All is right in the world.

House of Usher

Swedish lady??  :o  Where??

Oh, okay - found her.
STRIKE !!!

How many of these luminous few from that seminal year are still reading? Do any of you post here?

Ha. Buttonman's next challenge should be a Dave Gorman style quest to meet every published letter writer. Or at least visit all their country's or something.

He's got at least three in the bag already.
We never really die.

Buttonman

If I can secure the necessary lottery funding I'll begin the quest Tuesday week. Oh to meet the famous Vaughn Thomas of Wolverhampton, the first man to get two in. Spookily when my team got beaten on schools quiz 'First Class' when I was captain and answerer of the losing question the opponents were form Regis School, Wolverhampton.

...

I'm off to Friend Reunited!

Yup, I started at prog #1. Went a bit wobbly in the 90's when things went a bit pear-shaped but back now.

But are you on that list?

Well done buttonman, we also serve who fill in spreadsheets!

I think Bouwel is claiming to have read from the start rather than be one of the inaugral lettersmiths.

Proudhuff

I'm seeing Buttonman as the demeted killer stalking each of these characters down and killing each in the style a famous 2K death , while DI Morgan Freeman and his side kick david Tennent try and figure it all out before the next Xmas Issue!
