So, there was this protest outside a local school building today - a smattering of local parents holding up signs saying "send our kids back to school, already". Now, I assume they're also Covid deniers, but then none of their signs said that - and I have a lot of sympathy for people who want their children to get a good education, and are struggling through lock-down.
But there I am, walking my new dog, and with mini-Solo(8) in tow, and my new dog is a little barky at strangers because he's got a Napoleon complex, and we need to cross this busy road junction where sometimes people tear round the corner and take out unwary pedestrians - and one of these protesters is standing on the sidewalk blocking the crosswalk.
So, I'm holding the dog (because that helps him be calm with strangers), watching the mini-Solo, so she doesn't wander into traffic, and indicating to this MAN that I'm going to need to cross, and he just shrugs at me. So I say "Oh, sorry - I'm going to cross here", and he just stares at me, so I say "could you stand back a bit", so he stands in front of the cross-walk controls and I say "could you step back just a bit" and he says "you've got plenty of room" (even though he's not making any attempt to maintain social distance, or even just decent human being distance).
At this point, I am tempted to throw the dog in his face, but instead I say "well, could you please press the button?", so he presses the wrong one, and mini-Solo points that out, but then he says he can't understand her because of her mask, and and and...
The question I have is - at what stage is it perfectly reasonable to throw a stranger under a bus for being a total [Coatlicue]*?
