I'd have thought keeping Constantine in a pure Hellblazer world would be a much more satisfying read than having him in the DCU and encountering Super Types. Wasn't that the good thing about Vertigo titles? I'm not a regular reader but that was my impression. More standalone titles, a bit more 2000AD-y basically.

Not sure if this trade reboot will be a complete and chronological presentation of Hellblazer, but this volume is clearly labelled '1', unlike previous editions.
Reading through Hellblazer 277 earlier today and found this on the letters page(the first for a large number of years).

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

I really think DC would be better off reprinting Hellblazer in Omnibus editions (like the recent BPRD volume, or The Losers and the forthcoming 100 Bullets), 400 page paperbacks at a fair price.  I think that would net them many more new readers as opposed to new versions of the old collections.

There's almost 300 issues of Hellblazer so that's something like 30 to 35 trades (assuming there's at least 8 issues a book) if they keep them at this size. A dozen omnibus sized trades would get you almost up-to-date with the current series.  Seems like a missed opportunity.
