This game is kickass. It's like GTA with messed-up superpowers; run-up buildings, grab people off the street, consume them for strength and take their shape, and of course massive claw hands.

It's fun having the freedom of the city to run around in between missions, and finding the fastest way to get around. Do I go through the streets, or hop from roof to roof? Oh, the choices. And the weapons are just twisted. ("Groundspiking" a crowd of people is way more fun then it should be.)

I haven't played any of the Spidey's, so I can't compare. Closest thing I can compare it to is any of the GTA games; You've got a massive city and complete freedom of movement around it. There's a story to follow so you can go the next storyline mission if you want, or you can go find a challenge mission to earn Experience Points which you use to buy upgrades for your powers. Or you can just run around aimlessly killing people, picking up cars and throwing them around and stealing tanks.

If you've played Web of Shadows, you've got the rough idea - Prototype is by the same production team, uses the same game engine, and is set in the same part of New York as the Spidey game, but with more gorey stuff chucked in to alleviate the repetitive gameplay.  It's also not a million miles away from Infamous.

Its ludicrously good fun this game, kind of GTA: Spidey Villain, starring a cross between a T-1000 and John Carpenter's Thing. And you can run up the side of skyscrapers. And eat people.

Yeah, I'm loving this game so much it feels wrong!
Can tell its by the Spidey guys and is obviously full of the stuff they when they were making those games they thought "WOuldnt it be cool if he could just use someone as a skateboard now and grind them into the ground?"
This game has way too many fun touches like that

Very tempted by this, I kind of thing Infamous looks a bit better but being that I don't have a PS3 this looks like the nearest thing! Any game that makes you feel like a superhero has to be worth a go, might wait for it to get a tad cheaper though.

was awaiting a decent set of non involved because you advertise with us reviews.

purchased fable 2 instead. but now as its july by the end of the week. this will be our purchase for month.
there is another of the same genre coming along any day now,from a differnt company.

i liked the download demo, was impressed with the long tentacle hands idea.

Got inFAMOUS game, as with new PS3, and I sooo love it! great actions! with story in comic type and wonder what Prototype like? hear it simliar???

ITs just a RIP on ACTIVISIONS SPIDERMAN TITLES but i love those free roaming punch up games.


Whats not to love about par coring through the city while leaping buildings and flying, Leveling up is cool too. LATER on the jumping gliding is much better.

have not yet purchased.


I may pick it up in october, as more than two games in one month tends to get noticed by the finacail controllers* radar! (wife*)
Batman and Halo ODST are my picks for september.
