Hi folks, I want to start a new ongoing thread that willbe fairly graphics intensive. Can anyone tell me how to insert attachments into posts.

Cheers!

Bouwel

I normally put the images up on Photobucket then link using the tag.
There are site imposed size-limits for images; 700x700 I think although my memory may fail me on that one.

Hope this helps!

Pete Wells

Yeah, thanks Bouwel but thats what I'm trying to get away from. I wanna add images as attachments to save farting about with Photobucket and to retain some of their size.

Bouwel

From what I can see that's the only way? I may of course be wrong on this.

Hi Peter, you can use the upload attachment tag next to the options tag which you see below the page when you are composing your messages. That allows you to select an image from your pc and upload it directly from there. Just make sure you resize it, and make sure you have the cursor in the right place in your message when you set the image "inline".

Cheers,
Gordon.

Brilliant! Thanks Gordon and, as ever, Bouwel!

I, Cosh

However, doing that embeds the images in a frame which you then have to scroll up and down and around and round which I find deuced annoying. But they're your posts.

S'alright Cosh, I've changed my mind! What I was going to do was this...

Loads of us have said how much we like seeing 2000AD covers without the logos and text on and would love it if they could be put on this site each week. It doesn't look like it's going to happen so I thought I'd start a thread of 'covers uncovered.' Using sites like Lee Gallagher's, Rufus' and D'Isreali's excellent blogs and Barney as well as creator and original artwork sites and my own collection of artwork I reckon I can get a fair few unsullied covers. I also thought I could politely ask artdroids if they could send me scans of their covers.

I've been snooping around for a little while and I've got well over 200 of them. Some are amazing and, because they've been done on a computer, look even more stunning onscreen.

Instead of just doing a thread about it though, I thought I'd start a blog. This would mean I could use larger images, make the thing searchable and give appropriate links and things to creators sites. I'm hoping that this can become a one stop shop for glorious, unspoiled prog covers. I'll let you all know when it's up.

Does anyone forsee any problems or have any reservations about it?

Kev Levell

Sounds like a great idea... I'd follow that!

Bolt-01

ooh, that sounds fun. Think Wake has some interesting pieces over on Barney as well. Some development sketches etc...

As I recall, Rufus took a scalpel - very carefully - to one early prog cover to show how it was changed. A Dredd figure was pasted on to it. Fascinating.

The Don Lawrence cover of the singing blooms, which the board won't let me post, for some reason.

Ah yes Trout, and there was the hidden McMahon panel too! See that here: //http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=187708&GSub=13624

I've started the blog by the way it's here: //http://2000adcovers.blogspot.com/. If it's okay with folk though, I'm going to start a new thread about it, after me tea like!
