Laptop advice

Ok so the Laptop got knicked as discussed elsewhere and so we're looking for a replacement. Its pretty much for everyday use and from looking at Which? online I think the thing we're after is Dell Studio 1555 2.4 for about £750 (come on insurance I know the old one wasn't worth that but chip in a chunk?).

In an ideal world I'd have one that sounded ok playing CDs BUT they don't seem to exist (unless you get an Apple and I'm an Apple virgin). That aside not very demanding users, don't play games, watch video ok and would like to be able to play with drawings BUT really I'm so unadvanced there its academic!

So yeah any tips for the best £750 laptop?

It all depends on the size of screen you want.

If you dont want or need a very large screen you could consider a Macbook @ 750 quid or a bit less if they have any of the older previous models still in stock.

You will never go wrong with one of these but i am not sure if the refurbished Macbooks come with all the preinstalled software that you get with the new model.

Refurbs are great. There's no difference between a refurb and a new Mac in terms of warranty or software. The only difference is you don't get the retail box (it comes in a plain cardboard one instead) and there's a slim chance you may get one with a scuffed casing.

Picked up a MacBook Air for my wife at about £200 under retail from the Apple refurb store.
