Oh yes, the Return of the Taxidermist story was hugely entertaining. Exquisite Ian Gibson artwork.

I still cherish I Was A Teenage Tax Inspector, but is it ever so slightly likely to see reprint?

What I want is complete collections of The Taxidermist, Chopper and the spin-off Angel Gang/Mean Machine stories in trade paperback form, with nice cover designs to match the rest of the Case Files!

Yes. They could fall under the JUDGE DREDD PRESENTS banner, something like that?

Given that the Judge Dredd volume 0 (or Restricted Files vol. 1, whatever you want to call it) is due out in less than a week, is anyone else surprised about the lack of information we have so far?

I mean, we've got no cover, no list of contents, nothing? Isn't it a bit weird to have such a dearth of information on a book that's just days away from the bookshelves?

John Caliber

No, I don't think its unusual at all (sadly).

I've had no knowledge whatsoever of the contents of any of the 2000AD reprints before buying them (only recollections of the material that might be included, no contemporary data). It's certainly an area of marketing that remains deficient, which is odd given how hard Rebellion is otherwise working at putting out all these tie-ins.

It is odd. I can completely understand that they may not have the budget or man power for large scale publicity or advertising, but surely it would only take five minutes to post a thread here about upcoming releases with the relevant info or fire off a quick press release to the appropriate places?

The books micro-site is helpful, but is actually maintained and updated by a poster from the board who doesn't even work for Rebellion.

John Caliber

I suppose it reflects how little money 2000AD makes relative to Rebellion's computer games section. The Meg and 2000AD have one editor, who I presume is left to handle additional merchandising duties too (if he still has the energy to get around to it!)

The 2000AD operation strikes me as a 'hobby that pays'; like role-playing publishing, it relies on enthusiasm rather than adequate manpower to pull through.

There's a entry now up on Amazon UK for The Restricted Files Vol. 1. I wasn't sure if the original listing would be processed, so quickly amended my order:

No need to panic, amazon have already updated my order. Looks like any orders for volume zero have all been switched to Restricted Files 1 automatically.

I, Cosh

I just wait till the books are in the shops then I have a look and see what's in them. Shamefully, I then buy the vast majority from Amazon.

I assume the Restricted Files 1 is delayed then ? Book Depository still have my order as awaiting publication.
