We have Peter & Roger in our Radwagon.
I am trying my best to get one of
Tharg's droids on board  ;)

Just a little rough and tumble, Judge man.

I've just had a look at my driving licence and I'm not allowed to drive minibuses  :| I'm not a bad navigator though!
To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

I cant drive Minibusus either but i think that CF can due to being qualified to drive HGVs.

I am a bloody excellent navigator even if i say so myself which i just did and i never get lost or get it wrong.

You are allowed to drive a minibus with up to 16 passengers if:
i) you drive on behalf of a non commercial body for social purposes but not for hire or payment, unless operating under a permit
ii) you are aged 21 and over
iii) you have possessed a car (category B) license for at least 2 years
iv) you are providing your service on a voluntary basis
v) the minibus maximum weight is not more than 3.5 tonnes excluding any specialist equipment for the carriage of disabled passengers. Minibuses up to 4.25 tonnes will be permitted in certain circumstances.
vi) if you are 70 years old and over, you are able to meet the health requirements for driving a vehicle (i.e. minibus) which comes within the D1 class.

Did the HellTrek fit that criteria ?

I cant drive manual cars as i only drive automatics.

I think it did Peter, part iii) is the main bit that anyone needs to know and I'm sure that who ever organises the Irish Hell-Feck will do their research  ;)

I am curious how it works out with the insurance.

What insurance  :-\

Only kidding, when I booked ours they copied my license and asked if anyone else was driving, to which I said no. If anyone else was to drive then the hire price would go up but not by much and that would be it.

If anyone did need to fly in depending on flight times I might be able to pick them up and drop them at the hotel.

Yes, indeed...

Oh, look! A wall!  :P

Mikey

I've had a licence for just over 10 years and it's just been renewed - no minibus category ticked! The regs might be different this side, and I think that used to apply alright.

I only found out because I was asked to step in for someone doing a weekend excursion and the van company wouldn't let me take the vehicle...

Are you in the south, Mikey?

We'll particularly need someone in the south, with a minibus licence, as that's where the trek will start from.

The other option, of course, is to have ourselves a convoy of people carriers! :D

Gavin_Leahy_Block

And wouldn't that be a sight to behold.

I don't have any licence either, so the search must continue.
