Anyone hearing any whispers on dates of issue 5/6 of Strip?

It seems to arrive when it gets here. Not having clearly defined release dates I would imagine is peeing off a lot of people! And the casual reader, that they need to increase their sales, would probably think twice about buying further copies. What's the point, it just seems to be have a guess of available date and hope for the best.

It's a great pity as the content when it arrives is good.

This big talk of selling Strip in the high street seems a bit pie in the sky to me. Big retail chains won't put up with this '3 weeks late' bullshit.

I wish them every success and I love the comic but the way it's being distributed seems very amateurish.

John says there should be some news today or tomorrow.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

...and that news is not going to be positive, I'm afraid.

Sounds rather ominous Gordon. Anything we should know?

Cheers. The delays are peeing me off, too! Just when I think things are on track, some other bloody bit of Customs/International Delivery issue rears its unwanted head. We need to get this sorted.

More later.

I regularly spend £1000s on print sourced from across Europe, and have never had one delay.

Strip is published in Bosnia (ie outside europe)

John mine was a non-contentious enquiry. It frankly doesn't annoy me when it arrives other than a greed for its contents. I love the magazine and my understanding is this next one is a fatty (double issue). As an old fart I am going to buy myself an ice-lolly and pretend it's a summer special.

Good luck with all the admin John-rather you than me!

It's also an important element of their business plan and costings. Fingers crossed things work out well. I love Strip.

It's published in Bosnia because the publisher is based in Bosnia.

But the High Streets are in the UK.

If Strip is serious, it needs regular on-time distribution. It is imperative for any mainstream printed publication - for consumers, distributors and retailers.

It seems to me this is the only hurdle facing Strip's success. The market demand, artistic desire to succeed and the creative talent are all in place. Now it's all about fulfilment.

So, perhaps it's time to find an alternative printer. If not in the UK, then at least the EU, from where you can get print delivered from press to shop in less than 24 hours.

He should move.  Not because it would aid his business, but because Bosnia is awful.

Also, I am not sure that simply setting up their own printing company wouldn't work out cheaper for Strip.  It's a big setup, admittedly, but for a single contract the ongoing maintenance costs would be lower.
