And  the postal ordeal has properly begun. After some 'issues' with the printer I've not got all the comics and spent a good two hours last night prepping the first postal run for this weekend.

Which is my way of apologising to all out there who have bought copies and not had them yet.

Thought it would be something like that, good luck with going postal!!

Got my Zarjaz and Dogbreath today. Thanks for the Hershey sketch Bolt.  :D
Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.

Bolt-01

Let us kow what you think of the issues when you are finished.

Nice package Bolt, thanks for the Middenface, these issues will be joining my treasures from the Glasgow Con for a mass comic read!

Mine just flopped through the letterbox too. Excellent quality as usual. I am constantly amazed at the consistently high quality of your lush comics - especially since I learned that at least one of you seems to live in a park!

Now - time for a brew and a read!

Dunk!

A lovely phat wad of Small Press goodness has just been plonked on my drawing desk by a cowering minion so I will be perusing it this fine evening.

Cheers to Bolt01 and Richmond as always.

Maybe a review to follow...

COMMANDO FORCES

Mine have arrived and will be devoured while I am hard at work tonight and you do realise that it takes a lot of will power not to read them before then

The Legendary Shark

Okay, I know that I'm a contributor and it may be bad form for me to type this but Zissue 18 is just awesome from start to finish. The quality of artists, letterers and writers (apart from that "Howard" chap, who's a bit 'meh') is breathtaking. There's not a single piece in this that wouldn't sit comfortably in Twoothy or the Megazine. Everyone involved should feel very proud of this Zissue - I know I do - especially Rich and Dave, whose tireless work, keen editorial brains and bald talent pull it all together time after time.

Buy one - you will not regret it.

It ain't called "Zarjaz" for nowt, tha' knows!

Zarjazzer

You get alot for the outlay. (I treated myself to FQ and Zarjaz) The Dark Judges story  looked like it was straight out of the prog. My favourite though was the insane story about Elvises  -my brain still reels at it. Good stuff throughout.

The word "fanzine" tends to bring up an image of enthusiastic stuff of interest only to the fanzine author and his chums but that is not the case with these.

The Justice department has a good re-education programme-it's called five to ten in the cubes.

Bolt-01

Cheers Zarjazzer, glad you enjoyed them.

SK Moore & Kev Crossley's work was stunning. This is the kinda art I miss when reading over the old case files. I can't say "they don't make em like that anymore" again!

Exciting news, readers!

The Galactic Crime Commission is an organisation committed to bringing justice to the furthest fringes of the known galaxy. With a highly trained and motivated workforce, the GCC is the premier agency for frontier justice in this most competitive of markets. Known informally as Strontium Dogs, GCC agents are almost exclusively made up of mutant humans from the planet Earth. This hardy breed are uniquely suited to this high stakes and challenging career. You can keep up with the latest from the GCC in the pages of Dogbreath.

Dogbreath was first published back in the late 20th Century by original editor Dr Bob. Dr Bob single handedly produced 14 issues of Dogbreath before deciding in 2007 or thereabouts to stand down. Since then Dogbreath has been published by Bolt-01 and my good compadre Richmond Clements (Though a simulated version of Dr Bob was good enough to stay on to introduce each issue)

The first 10 issues of Dogbreath are available to download (free and gratis) here.

The first issue of Dogbreath from FQP was issue 15 and we determined to bring you the best fanzine possible. We have just launched issue 27 and  our contributors read like a list of the finest creators you will 'ever' see including: Boo Cook, Nigel Dobbyn, Monty Nero, Graeme Neil Reid, Jim Campbell, Simon Coleby, Steve Roberts and those are just the one's  I think of as I'm typing.

Why am I telling you this? Simple really- we need scripts. Stories, strips, features we need them all. Dogbreath is THE longest running fanzine for 2000 AD. Zarjaz doesn't come close and the rest don't even get a mention.

The situation at the moment is that unless we get more content Dogbreath 28 will be the last one. How's that for exciting?

Email strontiumdogbreath@gmail.com if you want to communicate confidentially.

So get writing you writey bams.
Just a little rough and tumble, Judge man.

Dunk!

A very enjoyable trio of titles I have to say with some very promising artists across the board - some, in my humble opinion, mainstream comics if not prog ready.

Good going Rich and Bolt.

Support your local small press, you'll regret it when it's gone.
