I was just thinking to myself wouldnt it be fitting if Carlos drew the comic book adaptation to the Film ? That is if we get one of course :)

Carlos did the original film adaptation, and a bloody good job he did too.

The coluring is naff throughout the comic but it's "Old Stoney Face" with brown eyes rather than the regular blue:

They'll probably give Jock the honour this time, though I'd Like Wagner to write it and give it his own "spin", tweak it and make it less a carbon copy of the script. Maybe they could have film tie-in comics that flesh out some of the world, it could be young Dredd flashback stories for us since Anderson is a rookie.

Wow.. I didnt even know that adaptation existed.
Will have to see if I can dig up a copy for curiousity sake if nothing else

Ezquerra's the only reason to get it. Helfer who did the D.C. Dredd wrote it.

Here is the front cover.

EDIT beaten to the punch and too big.

I love how it says THE OFFICIAL ADAPTATION OF THE SMASH-HIT MOVIE!
Well one out of two ain't bad!
I guess you can say it was a ''smash'', just not the kind of ''smash'' they were hoping for.

I had this at one time.
I thought to myself ''So that's what he looks like under the helmet''

It must have broke their heart a little to have to draw it looking like Stallone, and with a dropped lip after all these years of actually knowing what he REALLY looked like under there....

Porr dudes :'(

Ezquerra's Dredd doesn't look too much like Stallone but Smith's does look similar to  the visage of Fargo he drew in Dredd Angel:
