I think Dredd would have to go pretty damn far to get landed with an 18 rating - Kick-Ass had limbs getting chopped off, people exploding in microwaves, multiple gunshot wounds and even a c-word, and that got a 15!

(Though secretly I'm hoping for a 15 theatrical release with a totally batshit 18 rated Directors Cut Blu-Ray!).

It's quite heartening that Michael is referencing films like Robocop and Predator - no-one really makes films like that any more - action films nowadays tend to be quite slick and sanitised. It's weird, because I don't really think of Dredd as a particularly violent comic, but I suppose you just kind of get desensitised to it after reading it for so many years - thinking about it, even the more subdued stories tend to have quite a high body count.
What about John Rambo (2008), that had a level of gore akin to Robocop and Predator. When Michael is talking about the gore, is it about the same as Rambo??
That scene with the 50 Cal on the back of the jeep and the sniper rifle was freakin' aaarsom! The knife scenes were pretty gruesome. That is the benchmark for me. The level of gore in that was crazy!

HAHAHA!!!!! You BASTARD! There I was enlarging the image to get a better view. I was going to repost the enlargement but couldn't figure out how to post images that aren't on the net already.

You shouldn't have said anything. Should have waited a bit longer for everyone to get excited! Oh well, I was fooled...

He is also the son of the David Warner baddie character from the original Tron - I got the impression that they were setting him up as the would be villain in Tron 3 if it ever gets made.

Aaaah, that sounds familiar also. It's all coming together now.

It's a left over from a movie called Laconia that was shot here in 2009..

The Sinking Of The Laconia? Weird. I just finished watching part 2 but didn't recognise the U-boat earlier. They all look the same to me. Germans, I mean.

My ideal choice would be Sigourney Weaver, like that's going to happen!

Interesting choice actually.

A magic trick, folks.

Now you see it...
