Is somebody going to film this supposed Dredd presentation in full HD on an iphone and post it on the web?  :ssh:

In this recent article http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=31785 ,  many things are mentioned except "Dredd" :(

The show will wrap Sunday evening with "Movie X" -- the premier of an upcoming genre movie that won't be announced until the moment the reel starts to roll. "It could be anything. Nobody knows what it's going to be. That's closing the whole convention."

Hmmmm.....

Best not to get hopes up though.
Its probably X Men: FC

Think we can safely say the Dredd movie isn't ready to premiere just yet...

I believe it's Thor considering they said it's a film about a superhero with a strange name and Captain America is still doing re-shoots. Dredd wouldn't even be out of an edit-suite yet.

So the 2000AD panel should have finished, any news or piccys.....anyone?

I'm beginning to wonder if DREDD hasn't been scrapped altogether.... the complete reluctance of the studio to release any official stuff just cannot be a good sign.

You'd think the KAPOW event would be the ideal opportunity to kick off the publicity machine for DREDD.... I'mean, it'll be in the cinema in 9 months and there has been nothing officially released... no teaser posters... teaser trailers little or no concept art beyond the few images Jock put out (and even they were very vague as to what the actual film would look like... as the one released pic of Dredd has little resembelence to the Jock pics.. big pads etc.....)

So I'm asking.... are we EVER gonna see DREDD at all??

I think that's jumping-the-gun, I'm sure it's just a matter of witholding until they have something more polished and ready for launch; it only stopped filming a month ago, look at how long it took to see Captain America/Thor stuff. They need to be careful considering they've a lot of damage to overcome with Dredd's movie perception. As for it being released 9 months from now I wouldn't trust IMDB for release dates as they constantly change and it's seems a bit soon to me for such a film with a lot of post-production. Target dates ae only preliminary and rarely 'stick' just like stupid convention promises.

As for The 'Jock' pictures, they were done on spec before he was commissioned to work on the film so they have nothing to do with the actual production and were not released by DNA, so it's an unfair correlation that's been floating round the web. If it were me I'd show a few good costume photos and that's all until a really good teaser could be shown.

Also, given the sheer amount of money the rights went for, shutting the entire thing down would be a costly and bizarre exercise.

They could sell the footage to the fans and we could all cut our own Dredd flick!

JOE SOAP

Take Green Lantern as an example, the first 'too early' convention appearance was pathetic and shouldn't have happened but it looks good from it's more recent trailer.

Danbo

Point.
Is the film definitely out in December? Some effects heavy films have up to an 18 months post production process,if thats the case with Dredd it could be ages before we see anything at all.

As I mentioned, there's no official release date from DNA.

Danbo

Wonder where i got December from? anyway...

Ah...

I thought they meant an exteneded trailer like what happened with Green Lantern at Wondercon.

So a whole movie is going to be on show?
Should be intresting.

Yeah, I'd go with Thor too.

You can rest assured that we will see Dredd, and that the movie is most certainly not scrapped. What could possibly even make you think that?

For this period here, after shooting has completed and before the marketing has commenced, it is perfectly NORMAL and STANDARD PROCEDURE with complete and total media silence. It is neither a good sign nor a bad sign, it is is simply the normal state of affairs when the movie is in post production.

The only thing that we should be worried about is the fact that LGF will be handling the marketing, for they are really crap it. Still, they no doubt have a marketing plan, and beleive it or not, the current media blackout is part of that plan.
