You have never felt pain until you've trodden barefoot on an upturned lego brick..

I'm another boarder who really appreciates all these snippets of imformation coming through from Michaelvk!
Cheers dude, it's fascinating stuff and really getting me fired up for the movie's release!

I think its about time we had another still from the film. Too much of our inane prattle and not enough visuals on this thread.
And thank you Michaelvk for all your inside gossip.

Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

Yes. I think some better quality stills are needed. The 'official' one posted earlier was appalling really... unless it was planned that way to whip up some attention. It wouldn't have taken much to do a decent photo shoot. I'd be in damage control mode if I was making this film... and getting some nice clear studio shots of Dredd out there.

The gun looks OK I suppose... but I wouldn't say it strikes me as being something from the future. I don't personally like the gunsight on the top. If you do an image search for FN Rifle, you'll see guns which look at least as advanced as that, if not more so, which are being used in South Africa today... at least they were being used when I lived there.

I would have liked to see the movie take a less conservative stance and have the nouse to take risks to imagine a future beyond the present. Maybe the real risk is the financial one, which is why we have Judge Riot Cop instead of Judge Dredd. I guess I shouldn't be complaining. I'd go and see a Dredd movie whatever interpretation manifests. The reality is it will always be a fine balancing act between art and commerce. It's all about bums on seats when it comes down to it!

As long as he doesn't take the drokkin' helmet off, this movie will have a chance.

Thanks for all your typing Michaelvk, you've cheered up an otherwise grotty weekend!

HAHAHA!!!  Yes! We should be happy with what we have! Keeping the helmet on is the real test! At least he has a Lawgiver! It could have been some shoulder mounted Predator type weapon!

I'm just a negative bastard when it comes down to it

Thanks for the info Michael - glad to hear there's a good vibe to this film from someone on the inside.

The shot we've seen looks great - can't wait to see more!

Glad also to hear you've been building actual Lawmasters - I had initially thought all stuff like that would be done in cgi and wouldn't look real.

Danbo

Big fat wheeled Lamasters with bike cannons.
Confirmed.
Pumped.

Thanks for the info Michaelvk, and the Lawgiver looks great (how it's going to fit in a judge's boot holster is another matter! ;))

I think the leaked photo looks great, but I'd like to see a full pic from boots to helmet to fully appreciate the necessary changes.

2012 is gonna be a good year for Dredd fans!

IAMTHESYSTEM

50 pages from one leaked photo!

I doubt we'll see anymore production stills till the middle of next year since as Michaelvk pointed out there's a lot under wraps that can't be disclosed and it could possibly be harmful to the films box office potential if the film makers give to much info away.

I always remember the disatrous campaign for PayCheck an adaption of a PKD short story.

One of the films Trailers managed to give away the secret of the film that Ben Afflecks character Jennings has helped build
a time machine
.  Now having given away the ending pretty well just what is the point of going to see the movie? Short of being an Ben Affleck or Uma Thurman fan no point at all.

Drip feed is what they'll keep us on so don't get too dispirited if no more Dredd pics are posted for a while.
