It's at times like this I wish they'd never made Batman Begins. The realistic schtick is wearing thin for me.

It's all very well citing that franchise reboot's reality, but it's supposed to be contemporary, and Dredd isn't.

They don't feel meaty enough, even something more military would have looked more imposing than those photos show.

Well, its gritty.

Okay, it is a little disappointing, but rather gritty and real then sci-fi camp.

Lets wait till we see the LAWMASTER.

I think we have been spoilt in the past...despite 99% of us hating Stallones Dredd...noone can really have any gripes about the set/props as they obviously had a f**k off big budget

Perhaps I should be lowering my expectations  :|

50/50 on this. Must ponder some more. I know I will warm to it.

Well, yeah they did have a massive budget - but you obviously can get a lot more for your money these days.

I'm sure you can get more than some off the peg Toyota Hi-lux's, a can of matt spray paint and some marine ply. Sorry if they are what they look they are, that's not even near future.

Michaelvk

Well..

Budget, guys.. That's all I can say.. And they're right hand drive..

I can't be certain, but I'm quite sure the VFX lads will be doing some groovy stuff..

Funnily enough, I asked the guys working on the ambulance if I could have a softserve with a flake.. It didn't get the laughs I was really hoping for..

Are there any H Wagons in the script ?

If Justice Dept are having to use out-of-date vans as modern (futuristic even) policing vehicles, I'd feel slightly worried being in something that hovers.

To be honest Mike i'm coming round to the 4x4s, but the ice cream van might take some time...like mentioned...it's more 1980s council estate than Mega City One

The paddy wagons actually got some great looks from the locals who might've thought Cape Town metro cops now had a death squad.. Believe it or not it's an actual fully kitted out ambulance..

Maybe you can flog them to the metro cops afterwards ;)

Still, I'm wishing that the budget spent on 3D had been given to the props guys.

I think Avis wants them back, actually..

Me too...is it actually a big risk shooting in 3D? Been thinking about it...say if the fad becomes unpopular again and 3D goes tits up before 2012...do they have the facility to switch it back to 2D?
