Blue Line

A quick question that hopefully you lovely artistic types can answer.

Will blue line pencil underlays underneath inked work show up once you've scanned it? I believe blue line doesn't show up when photocopied.

When photocopying, the blue line will only not show up if you have used non-reproducing blue, it is a specific shade and if you've just got some random blue pencil you can't guarantee that ALL the blue will disappear... not even 100% sure that ALL the blue will disappear if you have the non-reproducing blue, especially where you have pressed hardest.

When scanning, the blue is just easier to select and eliminate within your image editing software (usually photoshop), there are a number of ways to do that and they've been discussed before along with questions about blue line and inking...

It's isn't essential that you use blue for this approach either, red & green should also work just as well.

Thanks very much KevLev. I'll check that thread out. I've some leads that are blue but not sure (as you've kindly pointed out) if they are actually non-repro'.
