Hello!

My name's Andy, and I'm a long-time 2000AD reader and comics artist/writer in my own right now, though I work at the other end of the comics spectrum to Tharg's prestigious tome - I work on kid-friendly fare for The Dandy! My strip does feature a dragon, mind. But it doesn't tear anyone limb from limb.

Aw, thanks for the welcomes, everyone!

The new Dandy is going great, as far as I'm concerned - because they're paying me to work on it, of course. But other than that, I don't really know. I hope it's doing well, I think its return to back-to-back comics and silliness should be celebrated, and I'd hope it leads to some kind of resurgence in kids comics which in turn leads to less polybagged, licensed titles and more original fare. But hey, I'm a dreamer.

And now I'm waffling.

I totally agree with you about all the licensed crap that is filling the shelves but I feel the good old days have passed us by.

You may be right...I guess time will tell.

Also, is your username based on one of the crossword answers from the 'Culture' episode of Bottom...or am I woefully incorrect?

Hi. Here's hoping the Dandy does really well. It must really stand out from the crowd of all those licenced titles from tv shows! I wonder what the online presence is like, forums (for parents and adult readers basically)... *potters off towards google to check*

Aw, thanks vzzbux - he's one of my personal faves, even pitched him to Cosgrove Hall films and made a pilot episode for a cartoon series with that little fellah, bless him!
