Hello! I read 2000ad from about 300 to 600 as a child and have recently started to get back into it from getting some JD Case Files. Reading it as an adult I can see there was a lot of humour in it that went over my head as a youngster but now makes it a joy to re-read this stuff.

Sam Slade was my favourite character after Dredd so I will be looking out for the reprints of that too. I have read that they bought Sam back years after the original run but it wasn't as good as the Ian Gibson - TB Grover era. Is this true or is it worth looking out for the later stuff if you loved the original?

Strontium Dog was also great until Alpha was killed off but I have seen he has been brought back somehow.

It looks as though there is loads of stuff out there, thanks to rebellion, so this makes it easy for my family to come up with something for birthdays and xmas.

Hello there and welcome. If you have any love for Sam Slade, avoid everything Mark Millar ever did with the character as it will fill you with an incandescent rage and a pronounced need for vengeance. The Pete Hogan / Rian Hughes run was lovely though. Can't comment on the comparatively recent Samantha Slade era though since that's more or less where I stopped reading till this year.

Welcome! Personally, I think Robohunter went downhill after Verdus & Day of the Droids, but I know there's a alot of love out there for the later stuff. Hope you enjoy catching up with past thrills!

As Greg said avoid the Mark Millar stuff....its just not the Sam Slade you know and love.
